Default Does a wiring guide exist...

Hooked up my panasonic head unit last night.

Now its time for the amps, subs and speakers.

Just wondering if there is a guide as to where to run the wires, etc to make it simpler...

I will run a power wire from the battery to the back, and rca and amp power wires on the driver side. Do you run the front speaker wires on the driver side as well? (To one of the amps i am adding)

Guess my biggest worry is how to get from the battery into the car, hopefully there is a spot there i can use.

Here is a simple diagram, showing what sides of the vehicle to run which wires on....

Looks good. I'm guessing that black thing out of the amp is the ground? That's the only one I don't see labeled. Make sure you ground the amp well And use wire as thick, or thicker, than your power wire.

I'm pretty sure speaker wire can be ran by power wire as well. I can't remember for sure on that one.

Actually that rubber grommet is on the passenger side behind the PCM. Pull the PCM out and off to the side and look down there. You can't miss it.

I stole that picture from the net...

Oops..i think the amp power wire needs to run with the main power wire..not the speaker/rca wires. (the diagram had it right, my wording in the first post was wrong).

I have:
JBL 608 GTI components for the front
JBL P652s for the rears
Infinity 12DVQ subs (2 of them in a subthump box)
Infinity 1211a 1200 watt sub amp
Infinity 7541 520 watt amp
2 capicitors...and all the wiring goodies...

I think it will sound pretty good.

Excuse my ignorance...is the PCM inside the car, or on the motor side?

2 7mm bolts holding on the wiring harnesses and 2 10mm bolts holding in the pcm itself..

be sure to disconnect the battery before you do this...

you will need to make a slight slit in the grommet in order to rout your wire through there.. i found it easier to go from inside the car into the engine bay...

there is a black panel under the glove box held in by a couple push pins that you will need to remove in order to access the grommet from the inside (you might have to remove the kick panel aswell.. mine was already out)

rule of thumb never run signal wire and power wire next to each other.... induces noise
