will a passenger motor work on a driver side?

thanks man even though i think im in the wrong section. i rolled my window down and it was fine then, it would not roll up after about 20 minutes of riding around with my friend with a trans am, he has an extra motor. i have replaced them once though about 1-2 years ago.
