Default system question

the system that i had in my truck was 2 alpine type x 12's powered by a jl audio 1000:1 amp. im selling hte truck and decided i dont think im going to put this system into my trans am so i was curious what everyone thought it might be worth. ive priced out all this stuff brand new and it was around 1700-2000 (subs were 500 a piece and the amp was going for 700+ depending on where i looked). all this stuff is maybe a year and a half - 2 years old. everything works great and sounds awesome.

what type are the alpines?

For the JL amp, match it with ebay used JL's. If selling private or on a forum, discount the prices by $50 - 100.

Do you mean $50-$100 off the new price, or the ebay price?

Usually a good starting point is to take 70% of the retail price and go from there. Some equipment sells for more, some equipment sells for less.
From what I've seen, people have trouble selling those 1000/1s for anything over $500. You'll have to find somebody in love with JL to pay more than that for it.

The 12" type x sells for $270. You might be able to get $200 a piece for those, but a 2 year old sub can be hard to sell sometimes. I've seen them sell for as low as $150 shipped before.

Off the ebay price, I usually take $50 off and I never have problems selling it. I ask that they cover shipping, and no questions are asked. I can also refer to an ebay item, and say "you're getting a deal...look" and that's all she wrote!

Or, you could list it at the ebay price, and let them haggle you down to your comfort margin, then you could end up selling it for more then you anticipated.

yeah, people will always give you a low ball offer LOL.

I was selling some subs that were $180 brand new, only a few months old, and listed them for $125 plus shipping. One guy offered me $90 shipped for BOTH!
