Default New head unit installed w/ humount *PICS*

I spent the afternoon today replacing the head unit in my Firebird. I used the humount, a Pioneer DEH-P6800MP, and PAC SWIPS steering-wheel interface controller to maintain my steering wheel controls (thanks White Bird). The sound is MUCH improved compared to my Monsoon head unit... and now I can't wait to get my eD sail panel subs.

And here's the pics:

And one night shot to show the lighting:

What kind of specs does that headunit have? do u like it? I love the red/blue contrast and it was what I am planning on doing but have been looking for a HU that can retain the controls, is blue, is nice but not ridiculously priced, and can play MP3 cds.

Is that the humount black w/ texture or brushed aluminum? (prob a stupid question but I wanna make sure) And how hard was the install?

Great job!

The head unit is 50W x 4 with one subwoofer output... it has a wired remote input jack (which makes integrated steering wheel controls easier). It's capable of receiving either XM or Sirius with just the addition of a plug-in module. I have the module that lets me control and charge my iPod while it stays safely in the armrest. The modules can be "piggy-backed" so you could run XM, iPod, and Sirius if you really wanted to. I think it's priced around $250 but you can find it cheaper. My only real complaint is that I'd like HD radio, too. Check with Pioneer directly for more in-depth specs.

The humount is black w/ texture and the standard Firebird lettering w/ red mini lamps (not LED). The really nice thing is that I was able to wire it into the vehicle's dimmer wire so the lettering dims or brightens as you adjust the dashboard lights.

They jacked up their prices. It starts at $60 and climbs really fast for the common options that most people on here have. I remember when it was $40 mostly complete. For example, the one that Ten32 has now costs $75 when the price used to be $40-$50 and thats all before shipping & handling.

Yea I have noticed that because I wanted to pick one up a long time ago, like right when they came out to have for this future purchase. Maybe I should have acted sooner

Looks good but I would have went with a head unit to match the color or change your interior lighting to blue and a blue humount to match. I'm **** when it comes to matching
