Default alarm?

i bought a 99 pontiac formula and im not sure if it has the stock alarm with remote key less entry........but i do notice that when i close my door and the doors are locked that my lights blink once but dont keep blinking...when i get back in and open the door the lights start blinkingg you know like the alarm is going off...and you cant hear the honk cuz it doesnt work..but jus wanted to know if i do have the stock car alarm or not..and if so i would jus need to buy the remote to program it right

Check your door panel for option code UA6 - that's the alarm system. If you have it then all you need is a remote (or two), then program them to match your car.

yea i do have the code for it ..it says it on my door panel....so where can i buy the remote...is it easy to program

Part number 16245100 available from the dealer ($63), gmpartsdirect ($37 + S/H), or sometimes on eBay.

You can program it yourself in less than five minutes - instructions are in your owner's manual and the FAQ sticky at the top of the forum.
