New Subthump box.. Im guessing it doesnt fit.
Just got a subthump stealth box and sub from a member.. Im gonna go ahead and guess that it doesnt fit properly? Am I supposed to be bolting something down or is it supposed to go right in..? It seems like the top is too high..
Ill probably end up trying to cut the bottom plastic part of the interior off and trying to make it fit but I dont want to if I dont have to
The last is me holding it up a bit to show the piece that Id end up cutting off

I have one of those boxes sitting in my shed. Took it out years ago but mine slid under the plastic and fit fine. Looks like it needs to go in there farther or might of been homemade and thats why it doesn't fit.

Definetly NOT home made and not a sub thump. It is an authentic JL stealth box. It should slide right in place. It can be bolted down. I never had to. It stayed in place very nicely. Have you tried lifting up the plastic panel and then sliding it into place?

The first series of JL stealth boxes had different model numbers for camaro vs firebird boxes. The rear sheet metal on a camaro vs a TA/Formula is different. Camaros have a little more depth than firebirds. Looks like you have a camaro box. I'd sell it and get the correct box.

Take some pics of the box with the plastic off....that's where the trouble lies. Try pushing it in from the bottom and tilt it forward a little as you do. Make sure you have no room behind the enclosure as well. If you take the plastic off and your can slide your hand in beind it...it's not all the way in.

One more thing to check before you go cutting stuff!! LOL!! With the plastic off look at the metal tab in the corner that attaches the plastic panel. See if it is obstructing it from going back any further. If so it bends very easily and can be bent up just slightly without much effort.

That is definetly a JL stealth box and the part numbers are the same for the firebird and camaro 93-2002, I checked with JL. Even in the pics of the install it has the exact same bracket in the same location. I also downloaded the intallation instructions and found out something very interesting...you have to remove all the carpet behind the enclosure for it to install...this is step 2 in the instructions.
Here's pics of the JL for comparison:
