Default Alternator wires

What is the big thick alt cable for?
and what is the alt Really thin cable for?

I'm guessing the thick charges the battery?

I understand type "A" "B" and "I"
but which is ours?
I really need to know to diagnose this charging system

the thin cable is for the regulator that controls the output. the thick one is from the battery.
