Default Stock GTO shift light?

true or false, the gto has a stock shift light built into the gauge cluster (ive seen pics).

if you said true, any idea as to why it wouldnt work? i guessed fuse, but didnt find one under the hood. sadly my goat didnt come with a factory manual either (used cars ftl).

any help would be great guys.

thanks in advance.

The GTO had a shift light in the original Australian version. It's still there on USA versions but it was deactivated before being shipped here. There is a guy in Michigan who does a modification that reactivates it.

There is also a "skip shift" light that annoys everyone by forcing a shift from 1st to 4th when accelerating lightly (to increase fuel economy).
