Default Installed Pioneer DeH P5900IB and no fade control

HU works fine but no fade option is available in menu. Direction tell me to the multi control to witch rear output settings between "Rear SP:F.Range" to "Rear SP:S/W". Problem is I cannot find these speaker options when going through the menu.

Car is 02 Z06 with factory amp, just different HU.

Page 21 in the Pioneer owner's manual...

Use the multi-control to select Audio from the main menu.
Select Fader from the Audio menu (fader and balance are adjusted using the same menu option).

Manual is wrong. I found a thread late last night. You have to go in through the install menu, same menu for setting clock. You cannot make the speaker change through the normal menu. At least that is how it is through the 5900.

You're talking about ordinary fade and balance, right? Not some extra sub channel control or other unusual setting? The balance and fader control is a joystick-type operation on the main audio menu. You can't use many of those other controls when connected to the factory amp.

Correct: The manual says that I can make the necessary speaker changes to activiate R/F Fade control through the normal menu using the "Multi-Control", the **** on the HU. The changes i needed to make had to be done with teh radio off and using the initial install settings like setting the time.

Manual makes you think thsi can be done while radio is operating.
