Default MA Audio HK65

Anybody know if these speakers will fit into 2001 camaro doors? They are 6.5 inches and 2.75 inches deep. Direct link is http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=14722
Thanks in advance

Pete

LOL!! I have a set of those sitting behind me right now on the shelf. I carry MA Audios full line I just can't get it all on my website right now.
The easiest way to wire those in a Camaro is to remove the black rubber cover on the rear of them to access the tweeter wires more easily. It runs down the back of the magnet and goes into it's center. It also shows you how small the magnet is. They will fit without issue. It's the wiring on the doors of a Camaro that is wierd. You have 4 wires to hook up on each speaker and the MA you have there has provisions for 2 like any other speaker you put in there. That's why I mention how to get to the tweeter wires on those you you will have full range sound. If you hook up just one or the other you willonly get highs or mids. If you hook them together you will get distortion.
Just wanted to give you the heads up!! Good luck!!

Thanks Kee, the midwoofers I got from you work great, but my amp blew, so I am going to redo the whole system soon, and MA audio components are good price.

Those would not fit in my drivers side without a good size spacer. I swear though, everyone says they have so much more depth than I had (a 3" speaker in there w/ 3/4" MDF) and my window busted :/

The factory mounts in the some cars are a bit different but the deepest one I found is from an LT1 Camaro and it has 2.5" of depth into the door itself. It did not have a lip like some of the others. The standard one I see alot is the one that has about a 3/4" lip that sticks out above the surface of the door. This is the one I see in Firebirds. From the lip to the back is 2 3/4". So if you were to use a 3/4" spacer and the maximum factory mounting depth you should get about 3 1/4" total of useable depth before you hit anything. Theoretically of course but I did measure the 2 factory mounts just now. I believe one is a Bose mount and has more room for a larger speaker basket as well. I was gonna take some pictures but I can't locate my camera. Soon as I do I will take a couple and post em.
