Post Need amp&sub install Insight?

Zup guys! I finally decided to add an amp and 10' sub to my Alpine CDA-9856 HU. I want to install this myself so I’ve been reading old threads on amp&sub installs. This is what I gathered so far on what I need:
-OEM-PAC (high input to low output.)
-A Rockford Fosgate wiring kit from Best Buy
-RCA cables from Radio Shack and the speaker wire
(I Have)
Please feel free to add on what else I need or what works better from your experience. I’m trying to make this install as simple as possible. Thanx !

This is what i'm talking about. Thank you Chattanooga! Walmart it is! By the way the amp is a 400Watt amp. So a 500 watt kit is ok or should I get the 1400 watt one? Thanx again!

unless you're gonna go big, dont get the 1400Watt kit. you'll waste your money.

I would definitely avoid one of those first two kits posted......10awg wires...500 watts peak likely, not RMS.. I would never purchase smaller than 8awg, which for the average length is good for about 300wRMS.

Use this chart to help select the appropriate size:

Search around for other sources of install kits -- I would recommend contacting KEE AUDIO from our forum.

you also don't need that line-level converter in the original post

I also carry several very good install kits for the same price as Walmart but with good shielded RCA's and 4ga wire.

I looked on Kee Audio's site recently. I wish I had bought my wiring kits for my amp and speakers from him. They were the price of wal marts but the quality you get from best buy or circuit city.

I just bought this kit. It is a steal for 60 bucks. Now I have to figure out the best way to run it.
