Default Buying Alternator off ebay???

I found a place that sells recondition alternators on ebay and was wondering if anyone had some insight on these. They are priced pretty well, but is it worth the money. Also what are the amps for our alternators. Thanks!

If you looka few pages down from that one there are brand new alternators for the same price with the amperage. Why would you buy a remanufactured one instead of new?

Just saw the rebuilt one first. The brand new alternator is still a better price than parts store around here. Thanks for the link.

I bought the exact alternator from the same seller(eagleautoelectric) a while back, about a month after the warranty expired the alternator started going out. From the very start the alternator was always a little noisey, finally one of the bearings went out but before that output from the alternator would sometimes dip way way down while idleing. It's always a gamble when buying stuff like this off eBay.

I'm not saying their a bad seller, just look at their feedback. But it looks like I got a dud

I have the 160 as well and haven't had any issues as of yet. Mine was never noisy though. I also upgraded the "big three" with 2awg power and grounds when I did the swap.

I upgraded my "big three" as well, it's not even worth upgrading your alternator if you don't do this. The factory cables are just pathetic and are borderline even with the factory 102 AMP alternator.

BTW I'm sure I would have discovered my alternator was defective before the 1 year warranty went out if I drove the car more, during the time I had that alternator I only put about 2,000 miles on the car.
