Zune versus Ipod 80 gigers.
looking to get a mp3 player to haul around in my different cars, started looking at the 80gig ipod, and noticed the 80gig zune, the zune seems to have a bigger display screen, a am/fm tuner
so im wondering whats better or what people like better, main thing i need it for to play my files i either ripped from cd's or downloaded, will any of them have trouble playing non-licensed files?, might hook it up to a car player so can the zune be controlled from a head unit like the ipod?

Depending on the head unit you can control the mp3 player from the head unit anyways. I think the ipod is just an overall better player. I had a friend that had an old school ipod. He broke it and got a Zune because it was cheaper, after a while he couldn't deal with it and got another ipod

I have both and I absolutely prefer the zune over the ipod. I dislike the ipod scroll wheel with a passion and the zune does have a bigger screen. I also enjoy using the fm tuner. Not all headunits can control an ipod and truth be told if you just hook it up with a regular audio wire it will function the same.
You really need to just get some hands on with each unit. Go for the zune.

Second in on Zune, no problems with any file types to play, easier to rip/dl/edit than itunes. They have an adapter now for head units just like an ipod does but FM does an interesting thing: absolutely no lag time and crystal clear.
Got a 4gb for messing around and the 8gb for the ride - it hooks up in a snap and much easier to find/play what I want than the ipod ever was.
Having FM with my own selection and "quick list" was the killer deal for me. Might want to think about that part too.

Since my Ipod sits in the glovebox, I could care less about the screen size..
But the aftermarket support for head units that control the player (ipod or zune) HEAVILY favor the ipod, and that's what drove me to buy the ipod.
(I'm running an Alpine IDAx-100 in the 'bird, and a CDA-9857 in the truck)
Controlling your portable media player through the head unit (and therefore through the steering wheel controls) = much betta

anyone used the creative music/video players? they are the size of a credit card and they sell for 100 bucks or less depending on gig size, the screen is small but im wondering how durable it is, anyone have a creative player?
