Subthump stealth box and 8 gauge wire
Does anyone know if the hardware on the Subthump stealth box is large enough to handle 8 gauge wire? Yes... I know 8 gauge is huge overkill, but all I have laying around is 8, 16, and 18. I don't want to go buy any more speaker wire if the 8 gauge I have will fit.

I've measured it to be about 5 feet from the amp to the box and then what ever extra foot or two is inside the box. I'll be running 800-900 watts RMS (but likely much lower than that most of the time as I don't want to rattle my car to pieces).

The idea that I should be running larger than 16ga comes from the bcae1.com website. I used one of his calculators for speaker wire and it shows 16 gauge as being too small. I put in 900 watts, 5 feet of wire, 16 gauge, and 2 ohms impedance. That gave 20.8 amps, 124 mils/amp, and a voltage drop of 0.83. The site recommends staying above 300 mils/amp and keeping a voltage drop of less than 0.5. Of course the decibel loss they're talking about with that voltage loss is only 0.17, far below what can be heard.
I guess my concern is about pushing 20+ amps through 16 gauge wire.
