Additional Notes

I think 3157 & 3457 fit the same socket, but 3457 is supposed to be brighter. I'd have to look at them to confirm.

As for the letter at the end of the number:
A - Amber (coated/painted glass)
NA - Natural Amber (the glass itself is amber, not a coating)
R - Red
No Letter (or C) = Clear

LL - Long Life

Stick with NA, you'll get the best amber color and it won't fade.

The car actually comes from the factory with 3157NA but many catalogs recommend 3457NA for replacement. I think this is to make up for the loss of brightness due to the amber coloring. A clear 3157 produces 32 candlepower on the bright filament and 3cp on the dim filament. The same 3157 bulb in amber produces only 24cp and 2.2cp. Upgrading to 3457NA gives you 30cp and 2.2cp - closer to the brightness of the clear bulb.

BTW, I couldn't find a listing for 3157A or 3457A (coated amber). I think the manufacturers have dropped those in favor of the natural amber (tinted glass). So the replacement T/S bulb would be 3457NALL.
