Difference after just the Dynamat Original door kit??
I got a good deal on a door kit from Tweeter a few weeks ago and finished installing it last week. Damned if I didn't notice a difference in sound right away. I'm wondering if it's just my mind telling me there's a difference though. The doors sound more solid when I close them, even my GF noticed that. It also seems like my stock speakers have a little more "punch" and can play louder without clipping. Is this possible or am I hearing things?

You dont have to turn the speakers up as much to drown out road noise so you can run your speakers at a lower volume, but still sound the same.

It's possible. I noticed a big difference installing some small pieces of Xtreme behind the sail panels and under the passenger seats in my 98 T/A.
I put quite a bit of the Xtreme in my GTP (entire trunk floor and wheel wells) and noticed a little bit of a difference.
Dynamat says the biggest difference come from your doors and your passenger compartment floor.

That's nothin' boy. You should have seen my car after the dyn Xtreme was done.. I think total cost was about 250 + Loss of time that I could have been doin other things. Get the xtreme bulk pack from ebay. You'll only need 2 maybe 3.
I would avoid the original dynamat if I were looking to purchase.. it's not that much cheaper and it sucks comparatively.

When you say passenger floor do you mean the rear or the pass. front? Why would the floor board on that side be any louder than the right? I was thinking about doing the rear hatch area and the wheel wells. You think the doors and the sail panels will help too? I work at best buy and get the stuff 5% above cost so I'm not worried about $$. Thanks.

One mroe thing. Does the carpet go back in fine or does it stick up in certain spots? Would it be good to double up over the tranny area? I will probably also double up in the rear hatch where the ttops go because it is thin and the exhaust is right there. Where does it help the most?

Don't worry no offense taken. Yeah it is a pain in the azz to put all that in there, as it sounds like you have experienced too. The Dynamat Extreme, or the silver stuff, works much easier than the original. We dropped Dynamat at the shop I worked for, so I just bought up everything we had fairly cheap. This is the second vehicle I have done fairly extensively. I still haven't gotten all the rattles out of the car though.
