Default LS1 vs 4.6's

These didn't happen recently but im bored and figured i would share.
1st race -

Needspeed vs 03 Cobra (stock)
Im in the left lane with Cobra in the right. We are doing about 20mph. I give him the hit. He slams it and so do i. He pulls almost a fender straight out. I hit 2nd i start reeling. Push threw second slam 3rd and start passing. At the end of 3rd my *** is even with his bumper, i catch 4th and the pulls stay put.
*side note: my friend is a slow shifter, which in affect caused his loss.

He calls me after, "Man did you get nitrous?" "No".

2nd race -

Needspeed vs 02 GT
(Full exhaust | Springs,Struts | Nittos | Intake | 4.10s)
First race we line up from a dig. We launch and he immediately pulls 2 cars on me. I reel him in by the beginning of 4th but its to late. Race end results with my front bumper to his rear.
Second race we go from a dig again, he spins badly and so do i. We both catch around the middle of 2nd and i immediately start pulling. I shut down around the middle of 3rd and i had 1 1/2 cars on him.
Third race we go from a dig...again. The guy loves his gears and traction and would not run me from a roll, so i just said **** it. Hands drop and i get the jump, he comes buy me the middle of first. I catch second and stop his pull and start reeling. Race ends result i beat him by a fender.

3rd race -

Needspeed vs 01 GT (Catback | X-pipe | Coldair)
We run from a dig. Neither one of us spin and hook up good. We are neck and neck then he hits 2nd. We are still neck and neck. I slam second and start pulling. He shuts it down.

Good runs overall. I really need to start doing roll runs though, my car is a dog from 0-40.

Good runs man... the right set of gears will make even the lowly 2V GTs run pretty good.

Nah Irunelevens is right, 4.10's open up 2 valves pretty decently.
That car in the video just sucks.

You say your car is a dog from 0-40? Get some gears. You m6, correct? 4.10s, and it will really wake up your car.

that's cause the 2V's have a decent amount of Torque.

For one, that looks like a stock-stall automatic GT... a 5spd runs MUCH better. And everyone knows that LS1s have more top-end. Just trying to start ****?

You know how the LS1 guys do. Obviously LS1>2V but 4.10s really wake them up(still slow). Had a 02 GT 5spd 4.10s, O/R H, and BFG DRs running 8.6xs with -3 degrees of timing(nitrous tune lol). Only made a few NA passes almost every pass was on the nitrous lol. Regardless of what the best magazine time was I have never ever ever ever ever seen a stock LS1 run within 0.2 seconds of my old NA time. Obviously that mystical 8.4x/12.8x is possible but I have never seen anywhere near that.

What I'm trying to say is that driver mod makes a big difference. If a bolt on/geared 2V with a good/decent driver runs into a bone stock LS1 75%+ of the time they will win unless the LS1 driver is John Force or some ****. The Mustang is just an easy car to drive honestly. If you have anywhere near decent tires the car basically drives itself. Then again 2V owners are the worst drivers on the planet so maybe I'm wrong lol.

good point in first part of second paragraph.

btw, i ran 8.8 in my 5spd edge gt with just a shifter and muffler delete. also lowering springs, but i have heard that those will actually hurt if anything...plus the rear still looks like stock, didn't drop more than half inch. oh, on street tires.

nice races

They will. They are nto setup to transfer weight like 'most' stock springs. Of course this will depend on the existing (or modified) suspension and the springs that you choose to install. But generally speaking, they hurt more than anything.

Eibachs? Those are terrible for drag racing for the most part.

it is stock stall, either way the 2v motor sucks nuts. I feel bad for anyone who has one and wants to make it fast. It does sound bad *** though.

I feel bad for your ignorance. OUt of the box the 2V sucks *****, we all know that. But if you think you can't make one fast, or they can't be fast/quick, you need to brush up on your 2V knowledge. 2V's make very nice TQ numbers, which works wonders for FI applications.

(ppsssst - he was talking 'lowering' springs only, not 'prokits' which are drag racing springs.)

The Prokit is not the drag racing spring.

dig race is the way to race anyway...that way you actually give it some effort and not just hit the gas...not that there is anything wrong with roll racing...sometimes its all you can get.

This seems like the most unbelieveable lol. That is closer to stock lt1 material.
