SOHC 2v 4.6 VS 5.3 LS=LS what!?
Yeah so i had my dads truck today to get some rims for the chicken. I was working on a box to ship a dana 60 axle I had sold on ebay awhile ago when a highschool friend of mine showed up to hang out. He was in a 2006 1500 Z71 king cab auto with a 5.3. My dads truck is a 1998 2wd F-150 ext cab auto with a sohc 2v 4.6. I convinced him to race, he was sooo sure that he was going to smoke me. I kept telling him i had a weight advantage with the 2wd, and that he was underestimating the truck (i thought he was going to smoke me too, i just wanted a race). So we got on the highway and did a 40-70 roll. I got the hit and put two car lengths on him by the end of 2nd. By the time i hit 70 he had gained back a half car length, but i had just shifted and he was in the middle of his pull.
I couldnt believe it haha, i guess my weight advantage and the hit really paid off... tomorrow he wants a rematch and we will do a longer run and more of them.
PS some people might think that its wicked gay to race slow trucks like this but i get a kick out of it, especially considering the ongoing rivalry between the f series and chevys line up. And i normally drive a 430rwhp formula...

There's nothing wrong with racing trucks. Got a buddy here with an 07 silverado with the 4.8 and some bolt-ons and handheld tuner, and its entertaining as hell to him.
I would like to see some video of that as well, BTW.

I used to race my Frontier sometimes. Even took it to the 1/8 mile once. First/only time at the track with that truck, crew cab, open-diff, bone stock. Ran a 10.0 @ 70mph. Not bad for a little V6

heh irunelevens that was faster than my 2004 grand prix ran. i could only get a 10.2@69mph out of it in the 1/8 lol
down here in southern arkansas thats all that is down here old chevy and fords hot rodded. though most of them are slow as hell.
the best though is the guys in the s-10 extremes who think they are fast with the stock engine but because they have headers, exhaust, intake they can keep up with anyone

Trucks are fun for sure. I just hate it when rich wanna be "rednecks" in my town think their Z71 can outrun some of my camaros or my buddies Camaros.
They throw on some straight pipes loud as **** and think their in a Hot Rod. I have put more than one in thier place.
I cant say I have never raced while driving my truck cause I have. But it was usually like you two, just me and a buddie bored and thought it would be entertaining.
Good Kill BTW.

well if we're talking about racing in our slow vehicles, i have raced a few f150's in my 04 trailblazer with the 4.2 inline 6 and smoked em. one guy wouldnt give up everytime i'd slow down he'd try to do a flyby and i would stomp it and roll right back by him. the only thing i've done to my work truck is a cold air intake and a tune, mostly just took out TM and added some timing

Some jackass at a gas station in a hemi the other day thought he was hot ****, tried to burnout in the parking lot and yelled at me "that thing can't handle the hemi"
told him I had 400hp and a $20 bill that said otherwise if he wanted to go
"maybe but it wouldn't take the 66 camaro i have back home" *shakes head*

A 66 Huh. Imaginary cars are always the fastest! And so many people have them too. You spend 20 geez on a nice car, another 10 to mod it. And these punks show up with there Lambergotti Fasterossa's and whip you.
