Default lt1 vs s2000

ran into a modded s2000 lowered with some wheels this morning, we ended up doing a low roll 10-15mph and i jumped on him easy, hit 2nd and i could barely hear him, hit third and look in the mirror he's a good 3-3.5 cars back so i stayed in third for like 2 seconds and let off as i would of just pulled more. i slow down and hit brakes so he knows im off it. of course he does the fly by and turns at the next light, which i know he was embarassed cause there aint **** down that road. felt good. first time racing a s2000 thought they were faster then that, people say there high 13/low 14 cars but i don't see how as i easily smoked him in my slow lt1.

Good kill. they're probably more on the top end with their screamer engines

They are high 13s/low 14s, but they aren't going to do well running from a roll that speed. From a dig you can rev up high and slip the clutch, or from a 25mph roll or something. But 10/15mph is too low. If you had run him from higher in first gear or around 50mph so he could use 2nd gear, it would have been closer.

torque is the advantage s2000 could hand from a 50 mph roll just like IRUN said they just take a few rpms before they get there but once it rev's up it like a whole different car imo

nice, good to hear about LT1 kills with as much **** as they get on here. yeah the others are right, the S2K was out of its powerband, but thats the advantage of a relatively big displacement NA V8 against a small NA 4 cylinder that makes great top-end power given its size

Nice kill in the LT1. Torque is all you in that race.

Good kill on the s2k. Going from that low of a roll killed him.

did he know he was racing? If he did sounds like he was out of his powerband/couldn't drive

Yeah, 10mph roll killed him. Ideal rpm for an S2000 to start a roll race is 6,000-7,000rpm. Which in first gear would be ~25mph.

I said "ideal rpm" for a roll race. You're not going to start a race at 1,500-2,000rpm in an LS1. Having a stalled automatic that drives itself is different than having a manual transmission car with a high powerband.

Indeed. It would be like trying to race a 3.42 geared, massive cam'd ls1, from 1500 rpms. Dead spot till 4-5k, then it will really get moving.

There are also people that bitch from a dig..."I can't launch hard, I'm on streets, and 10 bolt....". People will bitch, if its a roll, dig, off a clif. Always going to be bitching, doesn't matter from who. Only thing to do is "attempt" to comprise, and take all excuses out of the equation.

Me and a friend of mine did some rolls with my 4 cyl and his lt1. One time he slowed down to like 10mph and took off, after getting about a car on me he got reeled back in pretty easily. Must be an lt1 trick.
