Default Stupid RX8 ran away.

Bought my car at Christmas and now I can finally drive it. Was driving a a 4 lane and this car rides up my rear and goes by me. I get into the left lane behind him and he stops at a light, first in line, with lots of traffic in the right. When it turns green he slowly goes to about 5 and I could tell he punched it. So I hit it about 3/4 and by the top of 1st I almost ran him over. Now for the good part.

By the next light traffic is clear and I move over to get beside him only for him to drive through a red light. Are these RX8's fast? He sure didn't want to stop at the light.

I was hoping to get my first good run in the car.

no they are weak sauce if you ask me.

when i was stock i took one from a roll.

14.5 at about 95-96

they have a terrible power band for daily driving and arent as light as they need to be to make them faster.

My GF has one and she ***** people up from a dig. I taught her driver mod and she has killed G35's, bolt on itegras lol, and a few new civic si's. She lost to a LS1 auto camaro with intake exhaust drag radials and a tune by 5 cars. So they are pretty good out of the hole if they can drive it. Now the automatic ones have less hp than the manuals and hers is a 6 speed.

You've got more torque at 1800rpm then the Rx8 will generate period, they need to be driven super aggressively to move out well at all - and even at that its not a super powerful car.

Yea, my GF's Rx8 makes 187rwhp and 137tq... she launches the car at 6k rpms and it rolls out. She wants to put a 55 shot on it lol. Like I said she raced the LS1 and put a car and a half on the drag radial auto camaro out of the hole.

Yea because we all know how hard it is to stall up a automatic drag radial camaro from a stop and release the brake and put the gas to the floor. Then hold the gas all the way down until the race is over.

Or not... see the hardest part about driving the automatic is remember to keep your foot on the floor the hole time and not putting it up on the dash. Do you know what rear gears the rx8 has in it? No you don't it has a 444 gear... So if she launches at 6k rpms and he stalls all the way up to 3k rpms then the Rx8 is going to 60' it. You know what... you tell me how he should drive his automatic non-stall camaro better.

Or... not. See trailblazer SS's are not that cool. Those are made so that soccer moms can get out on the intersate faster. Not so some tool can do a basic bolt on package and run 13.30's at 106 <--- Wow btw. Look I am sure you are like the best driver ever and you can make a automatic shifter faster than is mechancially possible, but I am just telling you the fact that my GF's stock Rx8 put a car on a LS1 Automatic intake, exhaust, tune camaro... and then it put 5 lengths on her by the end of the quarter mile.

Yea I have seen it wheel hop before, but these are not the stock tires (the aren't DR's either) also the road we race on is new pavement so it just spins and chirps a little. Then she barks 2nd 3rd and 4th and the race is over. LOL I won't hurt you, you are not ignorant.

One time I launched her car, so I am used to a slight clutch slip with throttle to compensate.(I am use to launching my Z06 my best is 1.86 on BFG's) So I launched her car and it hopped and hopped and then I grinded second (because of their shitty clutch lines...so we changed the clutch line to stainless steel). But I have never seen her hop the car. It really depends on the road surface I believe.

New pavement isn't a drag Strip Rog. Iv seen them wheel hop like fat kid on skittles at the track on DRs. I don't doubt your story just your comment about the 60'. We can agree to disagree gently I hope.
