AWD TBSS vs. Lightning
I got my first race in the TBSS earlier. I spotted my cousin in his Lightning.. truck has a 2 lb pulley, minor suspension work, and a tune. TBSS is bone stock. He honked it off from a 20-25 roll (wasn't really looking, just a guess) and jumped a foot.. we were pretty much dead even the whole time. I'm guessing we ran to 100 or so. We both had **** to do so we didn't get a chance to run again. I was definitely impressed. I figured he would've had me by a car or two from the mods.

LOL... Thanks for the words of encouragement, guys, but we pretty much tied. Either way, I was impressed considering I'm still stock. His Lightning is a 99.

5200 is way too high. 4670 listed here.. http://www.fordf150.net/specs/99ext.php .. around what a TBSS with AWD is. After thinking about it, a typical AWD SS puts down a little unde 300 HP, and I'm pretty sure he's up around at least 330, and I doubt he spun. Oh well.. I'll surely run him again, hopefully with a couple mods of my own.

I plan on ditching the jack and spare.. should help a little. E-fans, CAI, and tune will definitely help me as well.

yes, a tune helps a lot, especially on the shifts. i ran a stock tbss about a month or so ago and walked right past him. i didn't used to believe the small mods made much difference but i saw first hand that they do.

Considering that the Lightnings run mid 13's in stock form, that's freaking awesome, dude, great run! I was a little leary about the TBSS's when they first came out, but now that they've been out a while I'm seeing some very impressive things out of them. Definitely can't go wrong with one

I've been driving the tbss for a few weeks as I'm putting an auto in the stang. I couldn't tell you how many kills I've had. Pretty much daily I beat up on a coworkers 08 bullitt, lol. The tbss looks good on the outside and has a great motor but I don't have much else good to say about it.
