Default cam'd TA vs Cam'd C5Z

Found out a buddy of mine just picked up a c5 zo6 and i just happened to finish my cam swap this weekend so he wanted to run. Ran twice. first time we started in 2nd and he pulled me by about 4 cars. Lined up again from second gear and he got me by 3 that time. I was little more ready for this race. Each race ended about the top 4th. Both cars are manuals

He said his z put down 410 to the wheels. We just street tuned my car lightly so its probably at 380 or so but im really not sure.

Cam in his car is 228/232. mine is a 230/230 111+2 full bolts ons for me (mid's not LT's and no UD pulley yet)

Things sound about right?

Good races! Those Z06's are tough to beat in stock form. With a cam they just get meaner. Honestly, it's tough for a cam only fbody to beat a stock one, so I think you did well.

uhhhm What? A well setup cam car should beat a stock c5z...

Good races tho OP. Cammed c5z's are no joke.. They are light sticks very aero+
hard to beat that from a roll.

From a dig yes, but a well driven 2002-2004 Z06 traps 116-118, which is right around where a well driven cam only fbody traps. There are some fbodies that go faster, but there are alot that go slower also. From any kind of roll race (the race that took place here) it's going to be difficult for the fbody to beat it. The cars will be very well matched most likely.

yeah i was hoping it would be a lil closer. but he was powershifting and i wasnt. my hydraulics have pretty much taken a dump on me so hitting 3rd fast and clean is a lil more difficult haha. Im picking up some LT's and UD pulley soon so hopefully that'll make it a closer race, i know i wont beat him cus of the weight advantage but i just wanna make it closer.

Yeah, he has the big weight advantage plus the LS6 heads, which probably give him a 20 or so rwhp advantage compared to you with all else being equal.

well im hoping with the new exhaust and pulley ill be a lil over 400 which i should be so that kind of eliminates the hp factor.. its just that damn weight advantage thats a killer haha
