12.80 camaro So i met this guy with a 12.8 camaro, 02, it has a very nasty launch, a 4000 stall, and DR's.... i've never taken my camaro to the track but i have a torquer 3 cam, full exhaust, 3600 yank,and a tune for a 175 but only a 100 shot in, sub frames and rear lower control arms, on falken's...... i was wondering if i would be able to beat him on motor? any imput would help thanks

his car runs a 12.8 at 109 in ABQ NM... he's beaten a 499rwhp cobra, and alot of other crazy cars...... so i was just curious of what you guys would think

It happens though. I've seen a modded cobra vert run 8.6s more than once in the 1/8. When he had the hood up I noticed at least a pulley AND it had headers, which I hardly see on cobras.
If I had been driving it would have been in the 7s for sure. Yeah it was that bad.

OP....If you run the guy from a stop and you light the tires up you might lose. I just can't see a car that runs 12.8 in bad DA beating the same car basically +cam +boltons minus drag radials unless yours runs bad. Just don't spin LOL
Why do you have all those mods and have never been to the track? I say go to the track and see what times the car will run.

You should be able too, but what I have learned at the track no matter what you drive if you cant launch right you still run crap times. I have seen a z06 supercharged the guy said it made over 600. He lined up againt my buddy's z06 which is full exhaust tune and a hundred shot, his makes over 500 wheel. The dude in the supercharged z06 best run I seen was a 12.7, while my buddy was running 11.3's all day. That with him just easying it out and then spraying, so you can have all the power in the world if you cant drive it right you wont get good times. I myself am struggling to get good times at the track in my car but I have had very little practice.

Your buddy was trapping 11.3 mph? Trap speed refers to the calculated
mph over the last 60 feet of the track. Your talking about elapsed time.
Your buddy's ET was 11.3, not his trap speed.

im waiting to go to the track because i have to buy a new bottle.
i have been wanting to go since it opened but i would rather wait so i can run it on motor, and spraying

you should take him on motor i would think but on a 100 shot you should kill him. if he knows what you have he might be trying to hustle you.
make sure he isnt spraying too.
