95 Z28 vs. G8 GT
I just finished up installing my long tubes the other day so tonight i figured i would go meet one of my buddies to see how i faired. My friend as a 08 G8 with a roto fab intake and a catback/x pipe. My mods are in my sig.
We raced twice from a dig. We both spun quite a bit, but i pulled out almost a half a car length by the time we hit 50. We both shut down at 90 with me being ahead by about 3 feet but was losing ground.
2nd Race. Again from a dig. This time we shut down at 105. I had near a half a car length til 85, then he started reeling me in. At 105 we were dead even.
I was pretty happy with the runs. Anybody else with similar cars run the g8s?

Good races! How's it feel with the new mods?
I use to own a 1994 Z28 A4 that my brother now owns. It has a CAI, magnaflow catback, 1LE elbow, airfoil, LS1 driveshaft, 3.42 gears, and Nittos. It went 14.3 @ 98 mph stock on a cool night (with 2.73 gears) and has run 13.98 @ 99 mph with the current mods on an 85 degree day. I think it's got a 13.7 at 101 in it on a good night.
From a dig the car pulls out on my G8 with the G8 slowly pulling back. From a roll it's close down low, but the G8 runs away pretty good at highway speeds.

Yeah, I can't wait to get mine tuned, I just need to find a shop. I usually go to East Side, but last time I asked they weren't doing them and I don't want to be the first one they tune, so I'll wait or see if there's another shop around. Also, I want to get a CAI first. Still debating on the Rotofab or the Vararam. I love the looks of the Rotofab, but the Vararam seems to have amazing results.

The headers really woke my car up, i can't imagine driving without them now. Yeah i was really impressed with the way the G8 pulled up top being pretty close to stock.
Me and my friend are both getting a dyno tune very soon.
If he is presumably running mid 13s then I am really happy with my car so far.

Sounds good! What gears are in your car? If they are 3.23's then I definitely see mid 13's at least on a decent day. I know my brother's car pulls hard out of the hole when we race.

Those will wake the car up BIG time. Just going from 2.73's to 3.42's was a huge improvement, so with your 3.73's the car is going to feel like it gained 50 hp. Tires will be your next mod
