Default My WS6 v. 98 "302" Cobra

No one likes to read a run-on story so:
I was on my way to work this morning, and some older gentleman pulls up on me making all kinds of noise. It was a green 96-98 GT, but with a flat-black shaker hood advertising a 302ci ford. It was in really great condition and sounded great. It came down to a double lane left turn lane at a stop light. There was already a car there so i pulled in behind him and wait. the light turns green and he chirps the tires pulling away to turn. I leave it in first taking the turn as quickly as i could without risking sideways action and then wound it out on him. I pulled to the top of third, about 100, mabye just shy. Moral of the story, I was impressed with my car. I really closed the distance fast, and ended up way ahead. He bailed out in the next turn lane but it was all good. I threw out a polite wave and proceeded to work.

Was it a GT or a Cobra? Was it a 1994-5 or a 1996-8? I'm so confused, haha.

Good kill.

venom1997, that looks like a badass ride you have there!

Sorry, I typed that over about 15 minutes while at work. I was too confused because if it was a 302ci, then it was a 1995, or he could have just done that for looks. My guess: Mildly modified 98 GT Mustang.

Either way, he won't fly up on any more F-bodies.

So......where did Cobra come into the equation?

Sorry, I'm still kinda lost.

He could have had a 94-95 GT or Cobra. Or some tool that has no idea 95 was the last year for 5.0 pushrods in stangs.

I thought originally that it was a cobra. My first sighting of this car was the front end and the 302 scheme. I guess i cant get that out of my head. It was probably a GT. He was like 50 so I don' know what he was trying to pull.

1996-1998 GT with the owner slapping on some 302 badges is definitely not out of the realm of possibility. Some people know nothing even about their own car! Good kill!

Yeah I stuck the foxbody "5.0" emblem on the back of my car. Below that I put a "turbocharged" nameplate. Quite a few people, mostly non-stang guys ask about it.
