Default My 99 SS vs 02 Z28

My mods are GMMG, Lid, P&P TB, LS6 intake, FTRA, Longtubes/ORY, & LS7 clutch. His mods are full bolt ons with shorties or mids. I can't remember exactly.

Anyway the first run we ran from a 2nd gear roll and I beat him by a little more than 1 car. The 2nd run was from a 3rd gear roll and on the hit he pulled about 6 inches or so (I just know he was a LITTLE ahead) and by the top of fourth I barely edged him out. When we let off he was probably at my SS emblems. What do you guys think of the outcome? I thought I should've beat him by a little more.

well him being an 02 he should have come stock with the ls6 intake, and from there your TB being ported barely gives you anything except saying you have it. so your basically at the same point in mods as him, plus depends on the tune on each vehicle.

hMm... good point! Seeing your sig just reminded me he has the same year CTS-V as you. He gave me a ride in it earlier and it pulls pretty hard. I'm supposed to run his CTS-V too, but I don't know when. It's actually his wifes car.

Looks like two have pretty much the same mods, except for your LT's vs. his shortie or mids. There's really not gonna be a huge power difference at that level and driving could make up for it one way or the other. Good kills, sounds like some badass races!

Gearing and transmission plays a big part here. I will favor the 02' has the same M6! Its going to boil down to rear gears!

He's a 6-speed too. I don't think he has gears, but I'll ask him. Were gonna try to figure out my O2 sensor problem because we just found out my driver side O2 isn't working (and I just replaced the damn thing).

Nice kills. The races sound accurate to me. With two 6-speed cars that close in power, driver can make the difference. But even without a driver difference, the only advantage you have is your LTs vs his shorties/mids like SRZ said. You pulled 1/2 a car to a car, so that sounds dead on to me.

When you said he has full bolt ons, does he have UD pulley and a bigger TB/ported TB?

the results sound about right, now if you had the 241 heads he has and the stock cam he has then you would've beat him by more. not too many people remember the different stock h/c combo's do play a big part in this. my buddies 01 WS6 has always beaten me when we had the same exact mods...reason being i have the stock 853 heads on my 2000 SS and he has the stock 241 heads on his 2001 WS6
