Not so sure about that.. This forum is really the only place I've heard the GTO getting dogged. Then again this forum is a first for a lot of things.
Uglier? I'd rather have a 2005+ GTO than a 02 Camaro. Then again, I'd rather have a late 90s Z06 than either.
As far as the rest of the argument, I don't know enough about the two to add anything.
maybe you meant early 60's...ZO6 was started again in 01

t's my dream to the the viper.the nsx and one day add a c5z06 and 03 cobra...honestly stock for stock my 03 srt10 doggs the c5z in every catergory minus one......and the one is very important..street cred..people have never been that impressed with a 510 HP car running 12.1 at 121 mph on average..Eighter that or they are just expecting so much because of the viper name..But the C5Z with it's 12.4 at 115 on average simply blew peoples minds for a car that cost 55K and quickly became a legend...

If he wants to own a legend, than buy a first gen ZR1. I swear everytime I heard of one being mentioned it was mentioned in a hushed, awe filled voice all thru the 90's... as the stories of there power and durability grew and grew. THATS a legendendary car.

sticks and stones...You are right...That car was like 60K back then when a reg vette was 30K and the first vipers were 50K...
I also saw a test were they hit 158 mph in the regular vette....167 mph in the first year Viper and get this....177 mph from the bone stock ZR1....
I still find 177 mph impressive to this day...
But honestly to me they are just ugly and incredibly dated...A C5Z06 is a car that you can still drive nowadays that still looks very nice

I myself still love the body style of the C4's, but yes they are dated now.
I love the look of C5, C5Z's, and all C6's... I mean I need to give Chevy credit because I have just fallen madly in love with Corvettes. Now if only my immediate budget would follow through while being a college student
