Default 1999 Trans am vs ? Dodge Challenger SRT8

I was just coming back from running, and I see the appearance of a challenger so I automatically think its a v6 with a chick driving, turns out its about a 25 year old male, wanting to race so we get to about 40 mph, and he takes off first and I chase him down and rompppp on em. everytime I catch back up, wouldve loved to do a race from a dig. I would of tore him up.

and here is another one, I was coming back from the mall on the interstate, and I saw a mustang so I got on mine and he got on his, I smoke him but then I hear another car and I say wtf to myself, and it is a caddy cts-v, so we stop and race and he beats me by about 2 cars, he said it had an LS2 in it? sounded like he had some stuff done to it, I think I could of taking him from a dig, autos seem to do better then

whats done to your car? and if you beat an SRT challenger you would have beat the CTS-V so maybe the callenger was an R/T

I have headers, magnaflow exhaust, 25% underdrive pulley with alternator pulley, lid, bellow, kn filter, and thats it, and Im pretty sure the cts-v had something major done, we were rolling about 60 which is never good for an auto

oh ok with those mods i can see why you beat the SRT8 but i agree the CTS-V must have had some healthy mods to beat you like that

Yeahh, im pretty sure I couldve taken him from a slower roll, because with the pulleys I get better low end torque, and he was a 6 speed so that helped him too, I would get a good jump on him then he would just pass me, damn auto lol

Are you sure your engine is running good? I have an A4 with full exhaust and my car does the best between a 50-60 WOT.

You stop, and race, on interstate, but you could have done better from a dig

And an LS2 is typically a stroker.. 402, 408, etc. If that's the case, he would have worked your ***. I dont think somebody would put a stock LS2 in the place of an LS6 in a caddy?

Agreed, the CTS-V had some work done to it for sure. Perhaps cammed?

Just curious was the SRT-8 a stick or auto?

i also have a 99 fbody convertible and ran into a challenger srt8. he spotted me from about a 1/2 mile back on the freeway and did a lot of hairy maneuvers to catch up with me).
even after i was WOT and downshifted at 70mph, i had to spray to spray to gain back my ground. without the spray, i could barely hang with him and he might have been inching forward. we ended up door to fender at 115mph when we let off for cars up ahead. it looked like it was lowered, aftermarket rims and at least some exhaust work..

so good kill! watch out for the modded ones.

I was going to say 40mph for the automatic is a no-no. Nice kill.

I think unless expertly driven, the 6Ms are showing to be slower than the automatics with what I believe are 3 gear changes in the 1/4 mile.

Nice kill. Those SRT8 are very heavy it takes alot to getem going and the CTS-V's are wicked with just minor mods. I wanted my wife to get a CTS-V but she didn't want a 6sp. But she drives the SS 6sp every time I pull it out of the garage. Women? It's up for the winter.
