1996 Camaro LT1 M6 vs Cobalt SS Supercharged
On a date last night heading home on the interstate in my cai/sh*tmaster muffler modded dd camaro. A red cobalt SS comes flying by me then slows down. Seeing that he wants to play and somewhat bored with my girl's story about....whatever..I decided to oblige him a run. We went from a 70 roll. I downshifted to 5th to let him know I was game, then downshifted to third and we hit about the same time. I was at the top of third so I powershifted 4th within a couple seconds and by the top of 4th had about 3-4(modest estimate) cars on him. Guy kept doing flybys after that so I figure he just got the car and was playing around. I assume by this outcome that A) it was a stock supercharged SS, B) the guy didn't brake boost and couldn't drive or maybe 70 wasn't the best starting point. So anyway, my girl was scared but excited as we only took it a lil past 100mph...and the rest of the date went well Chalk another one up for an old worn out LT1.

good kill op. this is the street racing kills section so ppl that say they dont want to read your story just cuz OMG, you dont have bolt ons or a fuckign 11 second car. you guys need to chill out. if you dont like the story or stopped reading after the "70mph in stock cars" then stop reading. and posts about how you stopped reading are not necessary.
Good kill op, but no need to break boost on a supercharged car.. i think

That's why he said
A: supercharged
OR
B: Turbo, but he didn't used brake boosting
/e: Flash, you're right...that was my interpretation..

actually I assumed it was supercharged..it could have been turbocharged, but I didn't get the guy to pull over and talk about it. Regardless, you guys called me out correctly on that one. I was thinking turbocharged when I wrote brakeboost. Didn't even occur to me what I had written until you guys brought it up...good catch..lol..yea that would be pointless unless it was turbocharged. Guess I shouldn't have written it in a hurry on my break @ work. It was a 2dr and I don't even know if they made a 2dr turbocharged version..can someone clarify?..in retrospect @ any rate it was too slow to be a new one.

I didn't lose interest @ 140mph and still climbing when my LT1 was stock.
In fact, as I recall, it was very interesting. Very interesting indeed.
Didn't take long to get there, not far behind a friends 98 Z28 A4.
OP:
Nice little run, Cobalts must lose!

there are 100x more turbo 2 doors then 4 door.
plus the turbo was in the 08/09 model where the 4 door 2 door was done in 09 and only around 480 of them.
id go with supercharged version.
the turbo should give u a better run then a few cars loss.
i love 3rd gear pulls.
its a long gear with lots of pull from 60-105.
p.s. good kill, when races are rare, any kill is exciting regardless of what mph or timeslips the run

man you guys pay attention to detail...long and short of it..around here we call it speedshifting..apparently everywhere else calls it powershifting...out of shear boredom I created powershifter @ work for sh*ts and giggles and don't care to log out of either one..One might think I'm a schizo but I'm just lazy
..edit..not that it matters flash but I actually have more post than you..haha
