gen3 viper vs sc430 lexas
Good friend of mine owns a 2003 sc430 lexus...I was following him on a country road from work in my viper when he stops in the middle of the road and then does a 0-90 mph blast...
I call him and say..Nice demonstration of speed..Ill show you what mine can do when we hit the freeway...
Please keep in mind that this is A VERY CLOSE FRIEND FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS AND I HAD NO IDEA HE WAS INTO RACEING..
he then says..man this car will do 0-60 in 4-5 seconds and has a sports car suspension ect...
Now admittedly the only thing I know about the SC430 is that they look very nice and cost 60K and have one of the nicest hard top convertable mechanism's that Ive ever seen...
Seemed like he thought his car was really fast and was gonna beat the Viper??? I didnt really respond...Like I said I dont know anything about them and from his lil 0-90 mph sprint he had pulled a minute earlier it might very well be competition...
We hit the freeway and as I approach to line up with him in my 4th gear he takes off!!!!!
But it dosent matter...Even in 4th gear Im still right with him and actually on and off the throttle...I never passed him and made it seem like it was close
After all what are friends for....When I got home I looked up the specs and it has a V8 with 300 HP and hits 0-60 in 5.9 and the 1/4 mile in 14.4 seconds..
He's now talking about a supercharger....I dont have the heart to tell him he better go TT...
But gotta admit the interior in the sc430 is BEAutiful...Very pimp car

INterior is amazing +1
And TT those motors can hold a lot on stock internals but im not sure about the trans, but it might be a real possibility to hook up a supra trans if he really wants to go all in.
Also i believe there are some 2jz swaps if this car.

I so-called raced one of those Lexus SC430's awhile ago before the headers and custom tune. It was ugly, I pulled him badly from every spot: even spotting him 2 cars from a 80mph hit and still passing him before 100mph. He tried to ricer flyby on me when I let up at 120mph so I repassed him and put another 3 or 4 bus lengths on him on my way to 160mph. Not even competition for a Mustang GT- ANY year Mustang GT.
Here's a article I found during the research of the SC430's after I killed it:

This article on the 430SC is frickin hillarious!
The 2nd Generation Lexus SC430

In all journeys to the top of the heap, the greatest of the greats experience their fair share of blunders. Well ladies and gentlemen, I give you Toyota Motor Company’s “wrong turn at Albuquerque” moment on the road to world domination, the Lexus SC430. Hidden in shame among Toyota’s shining greats such as the Supra, Celica and MR2, the SC430 holds a place in Toyota history as somewhat of a head scratcher. The first SC models were markedly badass, and is still often seen rolling unsuspectingly around town with a supra motor stuffed under the hood, ready to pounce on rice rockets. But the second gen was a big question mark as it went soft in a big way. Is it a sports coupe? Is it a luxury cruiser? Is it a convertible for your grandma? Most likely it’s the latter, because only grandma in her hormone replacement drug induced, need a stronger eyeglass prescription state could ever make the decision to fork out almost $60K US for this hideous beige thing. Sweet lord, for $60K it better have a hell of a interior in it, because the exterior just doesn’t cut the mustard. From the wheels, inspired by the innards of a stainless steel Miele washing machine, to the trunk, which makes the back end of a Maxima look good, there’s unpleasant visuals happening on all sorts of levels.
It’s truly unfortunate that this is what Toyota felt the world needed after it so selfishly stripped us of the Supra. It was just downright disappointing, as we expected oh so much more. Lexus, this one hurts your standings in the “favorite car brand named after a **** star” competition, time to shape up.

I'm not butthurt at all...I just find it funny that he'll waste his time on a slow Lexus and rev at an even slower base 300C but can't possibly bring himself to race a GTO.

Edit: I just found out from reading some of your other post that you live in Hawaii. I am sure it would have made for a very impressive run. Good luck with your search.
