*Video* My 408ci NA Camaro vs 07 GSXR 1000 on A/B/C modes
Well I wanted to race my friend just to see how my car faired against his bike. I figured it would be a dead even race against a 600, with the 750 being fairly close, and the 1000 saying good-bye. I've owned and drag raced an 06 GSXR 600 and an 06 GSXR 1000, I know where my car stands against bikes, LOL.
Details:
'Princess' - 408ci/A3 with 4500 Vigilante/12 bolt with 4.10s. Riding on Mickey Thompson ET Street radials in a 325/50/15. Stage 3 LS6s, MS4 cam, Fast 90/90.
Vs.
07 GSXR 1000 - stock except for a slip-on
From what my friend says, C mode on his bike is identical to a friends stock 600. B mode is similar to a 750, and A mode is just wide open 1000 obvously. I went 10.7@125 on my 600, and 10.10@143 on my 1000. Im thinking my car will probably be in the upper 10s range, so I think it's a pretty fair assumption. Keep in mind this is a full weight w/ all options and air conditioning car.. not a stripped drag car by any means. The cam is also mild for a 408ci setup. Very DD-able and sees the street 99% of the time, although it's not a DD for obvious reasons (keep it clean/nice, miles low, fuel mileage, etc) It's currently riding on my strip wheels/tires because I'm re-working my street setup, but it worked out well. No 1/4 mile times yet, it'll be going to the strip for the first time on March 13th

It looks like he was pretty far out on B-mode but he was really only 3-4 cars out, my friend zooming the camera in kind of killed the actual view. On A mode I gave up early for obvious reasons.. no point in trying to keep up when he traps 20mph more than me, lol.
Well anyways, I had a lot of fun.. the car was running right and hooking good. I'm trying to find someone with an actual 600 to race me that DOESN'T suck at riding. Most people I know in town with a 600 are absolute squids and wouldn't even be worth running.
I'm debating on whether I want to go with a larger custom cam and some spray for the summer racing season, or if I'm just going to bracket it as-is untill it goes under the knife for a front mount this winter. Either way, comments/criticism are welcome. Except for stupid *** stories about your boltons car walking bikes. Or your stock 2v.

Thanks for the truthful review and some good races against a bike . Too many damn noobs posting crotch rocket kill stories in their slow 12 second cars .
If you were close by I would give you a run on my little 6er - sounds like it would be an awesome race! My PB is 10.3 but I average mid 10s, and I am not perfectly consistent so sometimes vary a few tenths run to run.
PS: That wheelie was nasty, and he sure took off once he brought it down lol.

I usually hate car vs bike races, but these were very well done and the different "modes" on the bike made it very interesting. I didn't know they could change their power level, but that's very cool. Good races!
I vote bigger cam and spray. You're not going to want to wait until next winter for more power

150 shot? This is a forged 408 . The original plan was a 250 shot plate kit with standalone, I may go direct port but I'm planning on changing intakes with the turbo setup.
Exactly why I wanted to do the runs. Everyone has beat a bike with a 12/13 sec car with no video proof. I'd def go run with ya if you make it to western KS! My 600 was consistent 10.70s, but it was a stock length/height bike that I rode to the track and to work every day. We're at 2000+ feet DA as well. Whats all done to yours? And yeah.. he's the king of sit-down wheelies. I was just starting to get good at them on my liter bike before someone hit me and totaled it. Which is why I bought this car...
Thanks

My bike is re-geared/custom full exhaust/PC3/tires/free mods but its negative DA here in the good weather too . Doesn't hurt that I'm only weighing 160 and was riding since I was like 9 .
Goal for my Z is to match the bikes times motor-to-motor .

I call BS: We all know there aint no way a R1 is ever gonna beat a gixxer 1k. Next thing you know, he's gonna claim it takes out ZX10's, too...
Actually, a 250 shot should make him faster than that 1000. Hooked up properly, it would put his car into the low 9's.

Not sure if Srs? My Sarcasm detector is down. Do I sense a Biased Opinion here? Not all of it is the bike my friend, in the end same as with cars it comes down to the rider/driver

I don't see low 9s on a 250 shot though. Maybe in some negative DA. I'd be extremely happy with a 9.99. I may end up doing the spray anyways simply because I've never had a sprayed car. My lack of motivation is because there isn't a lot of street competition here currently. The fast fast cars in town see more miles on the track than they do on the street, and the only other quick cars in town are my friends and we all know what eachother has. Which is why I resort to running bikes...

The bikes nowadays are so close that it's unrealistic to do more than give lip service to brand loyalty. Hell, I've taken out my share of exotics ridden by decent riders while on my zx14 on twisty roads simply because I am a better rider.
For instance this video, this is the turnaround point which was 7-8 miles after the point where I said "After I give the signal to start, there will be 4-5 miles of twisty road ahead: Pass me if you can; just dont screw up my line doing so,and dont wreck trying to keep up".. This group of track guys were a bit shellshocked after I was done with them.
