my 2002z28 ls6 vs newer challenger srt8 with 1000 miles on the new engine, i was hoping i would come across somethign equally powered at somepoint..and i did! I was driving speed limit last night on route 1 with not to much traffic. i see lights getting pretty close behind me at a fast speed so i move out of the fast lane and continue driving. the driver comes besides me and slows down to my speed and i realize that its the srt8 challenger, i slow down a little when putting it down to second gear and he takes off before me..i mash the gas and start gaining on him, in 4th gear i had what it looked to be about 1 1/2 cars on him and he slowed down and got off the next exit... i wish i could of gotten another run with one i wasnt taking the rpms to the max but i was giving full throttle. anyone else come across one of these i thought it would of been faster than it was on the highway unless the guy wasnt gunning it.

I don't know how you won by that much. My cousin has a 02 WS6 with a lid and exhaust and he raced his boys 6-speed Challenger SRT8 5 times. He beat him by 1/2 car everytime. 2 1/2 cars seems wayyyy to much unless you have more mods. Stock for stock a SRT8 is faster than a LS1 too

Are you guys racing A5s or M6 SRT-8 Challengers?
A5s need to be in the powerband (unless from a dig) and not shifted manually with ESP partially/fully off. Not enough owners know this.
Not saying it wouldn't get beat anyway, but 2.5 cars tells me driver mod/knowledge needed.
