Default Wish I had been in the Mustang! First one I have ever seen...

Well going to the g/f's house I'm cruising on the interstate in the Z71 going about 70mph with the traffic listening to some Dierks Bentley (yea call me a hick if you want ) and I see a white C6 switch lanes ahead. I'm looking at the rear of the car trying to figure out if its a C6, Z06, or ZR1 (I don't know my Vettes good enough to tell the color-to-model). But I do know that white wasn't a Z06 unless it was the Ron edition or a new one. Didn't see huge fenders so I'm thinking its a C6, but the rear little spoiler is black. Hmm I thought. Why couldn't I be in the Stang, this would be a fun race that I could probably win! Well as I get closer I start to think "man, those fenders do look kinda wide". I switch sides to get a better look. Yep, those are some wide *** fenders. While I'm scanning the car I'm trying my best to watch the car 4 feet in front of me to make sure they don't hit the brakes and I hit them! Ok so its a white Z06...nice! Still wish I was in the stang to see how close I could keep up. I look for the Z06 badge but see nothing. I keep scanning for a badge...back and forth from the vette to the car in front of me. Then I look at the brakes as I can see them from the spokes going 70mph. BIG *** silver rear brakes. Looking for a badge again but see nothing...wait, I saw something....whats that say? "Grand Sport"!!!! Have never seen one, only read the specs online. Now I really wonder how I would do against this limited edition badass car! Maybe, possibly I could stay neck and neck with him...but doubtful. I roll up along side to see a business man with sandy gray hair. I honk the horn a few times and get his attention. I stick my arm out the window towards him and give him a big thumbs up for buying such a badass Corvette. However ofcourse he looks over at me and gives me a look as if I am bothering him and he gets it all the time. Oh well it was still a nice car and definately like them better than the Z06! The front fenders just looked flat out mean! Sorry its not exactly a kill but I think its worth posting. Sorry if not.

The GS is a great car for the money. There is a suspicion that due to the dry sump oiling system the 436hp rating may actually be a tad low...

About what do they put a the tires on average? And what do they run? I'm wondering how I would have done both from a roll and from a dig.

C6's seem to dyno right around 380-390rwhp stock on a Mustang Dyno. I just read this article from GM High Tech and Performance that covered a C6: (keep in mind a Dyno Dynamics dyno reads higher than any other)
http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...wap/index.html

"It has been dubbed by many as a mini-LS7, and for good reason. Bone stock, our '09 C6 tester made a whopping 406 rwhp on Redline Motorsports' Dyno Dynamics rollers. With a big cam, Kooks 1 7/8-inch long tube headers, Borla exhaust, VaraRam cold air intake and custom tune, output jumped to 483 rwhp, not to mention well over 400 lb-ft of torque'

I absolutely love the new Grand Sport! They looks freakin badass! I don't have any hard numbers on them other than the rated 436 hp, but I read somewhere that they tweaked something and it runs 0-60 like 2 tenths faster than a regular LS3 C6. Not sure if that'r true, but to run that much faster it wouldn't suprise me if they made a bit more power.

There is a youtube video of one being dynoed. It says it's off the showroom floor and the graph shows 394 rwhp SAE on a dynojet.

i have seen them up close at the stealership. They are badass lookin. But i have to admit. I kinda wish they SOMWHAT distinguished the ZO6 more. Or not make the GS to look just like one.

Yea I agree. But that is GM being cheap for you. They don't want to spend the money on a new hood/rear fenders. The front fenders looked badass though!
