Going to work yesterday I was driving the g/f's Mach 1. Pulling out of my neighborhood I saw a obviously lowered LS1 style Camaro coming by. As it went by I noticed Z28. Nice I thought but I really didn't care to race. We were going down the road and his lane ended but there was a car next to him so I heard his car gear down and he took off. The car was pretty damn loud, I was a good 10 carlengths back and could still hear it good. Oh well we went up the road and my turn came so I got over in the turning lane as he was sitting at the redlight. I drive by and noticed it was a silver haired man (but only looked to be early 50s) and I he looked over and his friend and him were laughing at the Stang. ***HIT THE BRAKES!!!*** Oh hell no! So my turn signal turned green but I sat there since no one was behind me. His light turned green and they went by so I dropped right behind him. He punched it with me behind him but I don't play cat and mouse so I just let him get ahead and I took my time to catch up. He put some distance between him and the other cars so I went up to him so we could line up. I get along side him and rev match down to 2nd gear next to him. As soon as I did he punched the Z28 and I floored the Mach. I instantly start to pull on him and I slam 3rd gear. Not sure if her clutch is slipping or the tires were spinning going into 3rd but it was only for a split second. Ran out 3rd gear to about 70mph and let off. Camaro was way back by then. So I just turned off and went to work. Bet he didn't laugh anymore.

LS1 guy realized it was a Mach1 so he let off. The LS1 Z28s are too slow for the Mach1s. GK!

Mods on Mach 1? From my experience a stock Mach 1 is a tenth or two and 3-5mph slower than a stock LS1 Z28. Course Mr. cue tip definitely could have let up or screwed up.

I think I'm gunna join a mustang forum and start posting about all the mustang I DESTROY. C'mon on man would destroy be the correct word to use? Maybe you edged out a camaro with a passenger and probably a cat back exhaust. Nice kill anyways though!

Bolt on Mach1s are no joke. Have two friends with gears(430s),tune,CAI and full exhaust. On Drag radials with axels/carriers blah blah they run low 12s at about 110MPH

I know right. The RAM AIR is what makes the SS have the edge and faster than regular lowly camaro z28... almost as fast as the corvette. SS has the corvette engine.

Nice kill. I'd love to line up against a Mach 1 at the track someday. I never see them at the track though I only see them everyonce and a while and an old person will be driving it.

A buddy of mine was recently at the track and said a nice mach1 blew up going down the strip. He thinks he grenaded the clutch or something. Said the car took off and was going from 1st to 2nd and it just popped and came to a stop. He said it was ripping though earlier. Mid 12's I think, and not too much done to it.

A few weeks earlier, I watched 2 4th gens both grenade thier 10 bolts, lol. Good ol' 10 bolt. Only GM would put an axle in a car that can't even hold up to the stock engine.
