So tonight (friday night) i was just out for a little cruise and i pull up next to this newer Orange 3V GT, probably an 07 or 08. A younger guy with his girl friend (which looked pretty cute to me). They immediately look over and the driver starts pacing me and blipping the throttle at me. Well i wasn't about to take any of that, so i gave him a big loud rev to let him know I'm game. He keeps pacing me so i wait for traffic to clear and i nail it, and so does he. I instantly pulled about 2 cars and then let off. He comes flying by me and stayed in front of me. So I'm slowly creeping back up to him waiting for him to just go and he does...as soon as i see that he's on it i put her down. This was from about a 80mph roll, which is bottom of 3rd gear with my 3.23's. I was about 4 cars behind him when we both nailed it. I start catching him pretty quickly, and by about 110-115 I'm flying by him pretty hard. I ended up about 3-4 cars in front of him by 130 mph. I wish i could have heard what his girl had to say about all this haha. My car is all stock except for an SLP LID and cat back. It seems to run top notch though. I'm not sure what the GT had but it sounded like it had exhaust work. The guy sure acted like he thought he could beat me.

7-8 cars from 80-130? That seems like a bit much, but who knows. Good kill on the cocky driver

Jeez sounds like a bit much for you to pull him like that. You said you were at the bottom of 3rd so I'm guessing you were out of powerband and since he was a five speed he got a couple second go since you had to let it kick down. Maybe he let off reason why you come around him so hard. Good kill though his girl probably wanted to ride with you.

Thanks guys. Yeah i was a bit surprised too on how much i pulled. I did see him shift to 4th gear right before i passed him though so it looked like he was trying. And his exhaust was roaring as i went by. Maybe i have a bit of a freak. I'd like to race some other stockish LS1's and see.

I still want to drive a 3v gt 5spd..I rode in an auto and it felt pretty strong..the 5spd can't be that weak..I'd venture to say w me powershifting it'd be alot closer but I know this aint the benchracing section

Every guy who owns a vehicle thinks it's touched by God himself. This is especially true with Mustang guys-I used to be that way in my Mustang. I mean, it's an American icon with a little horsey in the front-how could you lose?

maybe the mustang was a lemon or maybe you raced a bolton V6 with duel exhaust. i wouldnt say your cars a speed freak cause you beat a mustang! Unless it was an 2011 GT that is.

Not to take away from your kill, OP, but it should be pretty obvious that you're not gonna go from 4 cars back to 3-4 cars ahead in a 50mph span(80-130) sorry, it ain't gonna happen. Either this guy just mashed the throttle a 5th for a quick second or he just wasn't racing. I can see you going from 4 cars back to 1 back, maybe pulling even if the guy isn't the greatest driver but not 3-4 ahead.

Yes it did happen. Why would he, or anyone for that matter, race me to 130 mph for no reason, or without trying? And inside the city limits? He was doing probably between 120 and 125 mph when i reached 130. No one goes that fast at part throttle lol. Especially not after they were just taunting me to race. I also seen him shift from 3rd to 4th with his exhaust roaring. And no it was not a V6 mustang, it said GT right on the ride. I wouldn't even bother with a V6 no matter how cocky he was. Unless it was a newer V6 that has 300+ HP.

Agreed, story isnt believable at all. Even if the gt was bone stock you wouldnt have pulled him that hard in 50mph plain and simple. you have maybe 60hp more at the wheels than a basically stock 3v and thats not nearly enough to pull him like that. I know the 3v arent the fastesst things in the world and the OP camaro would have beaten it any day of the week but his story isnt believable by how much he is saying.
