96 Formula VS 96 Cobra...
So my friend recently came back to town to hang out, and he has a 96 Cobra, Stock aside from a open/broken catback, and a short shifter. My car has a GMMG, Short throw, and a K&N CAI. He kept asking if I wanted to run my car against his, since I just got it and he hadn't seen it before... but I knew he would beat me (I was thinking about 2 lengths), so I said no...
We left our friends house the other day and I decided **** it, hes next to me now, so I cant bitch out... We were both at 40-45mph in 2nd, 3 honks and we were off... Neck and neck, I hit third, and pulled about a fender, then he shifted and I ended up with my nose at the back of his door until we let off at 95-100mph.
I didn't think that was too bad.
What do you all think?

I'd say you did pretty good man. LT1s are still a strong runner and the cobras weren't to bad. From personal experience of my buddies 98 cobra be would go 13.8@102 with just a midpipe.

Now hes got a stroked block with ported heads, bigger cams, and a Procharger waiting to go in his car this winter.

Oh yeah... Its a shawn highland Shortblock... and the cams are expensive as well as the porting on heads/intake... then theres the fuel system and ignition system, and then THE ALMIGHTY PROCHARGER.... but he'll have a 900rwhp street legal car, and hes ... only 19 years old.

My car was a 94M6 with a bbk TB, cold air, ypipe an single dumped exhaust(factory manifolds). It had LCA's and SFC's as well but still wasn't "fast". I wouldve expected u to have gotten him by a car or so...
Not trying to rain on the parade or anything btw, just sharing my experience. The 96 I raced I had by about 2 lengths and I spun like a **** when we started.
My car was good for high 8's in an 1/8th(like 8.9-9.1)
