Default LT1 VS Ford 347

This red Fox mustang drives by almost everyday infront of the shop reving and trying to get us to chase him. My firend (that ownes the shop) Has a chevelle that sits out front and the mustang is wanting a piece bad. So A few nights ago i was sitting at he computer at my house (on Ls1tech)and this mustang drives by realy slow revving. I get up put my shoes on and get in the car and take off after him. I catch up to him about 250 yards down the road and he turns around (4 lane) and stops and waits for me. I get beside him and its caged, mini tubed, skinnies on front and the cam has some good chop to it. So im thinking ooooooo ****. So his passenger holds up his arm to do an arm drop and i stall up my stock verter LOL and he drops his arm. We take off at the same time (bolth spinning) and we hit second door to door and i start pulling, i ran 2nd all the way to the limiter and lifted. I pulled about to links on him and he goes by me when i lift. So we slow back down and im going to try get him to do it again from a roll and he wont even look over at me now. I back off and he pulls into the gas station down the road and i pull in and talk for a min. He says it a stroked 302 with STOCK topend . So then he proceeds to ask what i have done to the LT1 and i tell him it is bone stock -K&N and his friend (arm drop guy) starts laughing at his friends Mustang that just got by a LT1

ouch..reminds me of the time an 03 Cobra picked on my "Lt1 car"..but it was a gutted ls1 swapped 94 z28..he thought I was running nitrous so I had to tell him it was a lightweight bolt ons ls swap. He proceded to try to run me 3 more times.. even allowing his friend to drive once before he gave up..but atleast he got beat by an ls1..with the lt1 bad rep, you know the guy you raced was wishing he had just left u alone

You don't even let your car warm up before going WOT? Well...I guess you don't need to with a 15 second car.

probably..if it was someone other than the driver installing them and tuning it

Who knows he could have pulled a ricer move and did the 347 sticker mod on the cowl and just tell everyone thats what it is....
that would be retarded but it sounds about right in this situation

good catch..but maybe he had just went inside and sat down to check out the latest in the streetracing section drama..and his car was still warm

The story actually sounds like a made up story IMO. caged/mini tubbed 5.0 with stock heads and intake but has a big choppy cam?

First thing that I've leared is 9 out of 10 foxboddies that are caged/mini tubbed have a 351 in them and are carbed. Story sounds like it was pulled out of thin air.

Actually had a neighbor where I used to live in Granite Falls, WA, that had a min tubbed, caged, 5spd 5.0 that was bored out (forgot the CI's) with a big azz cam on stock heads/ GT40 intake. He swore it was the fastest car in town and even tried to race me on my ZX14 one day. Huge mistake for him.
