Default 1 night poll. Should I buy this?

Been eatin' my insides out over this car purchase. I REALLY wanted a C6 Z06, but this car is so damned sweet. Owned by a guy who took meticulous care of it, never beat it, never drove it in the rain. I ogled it every time it came into the shop (my friend owns the shop that did ALL the work on it, even oil changes, etc.).

Now it's been offered to me for $20k. Price is unbelievable. Car is clean enough to eat off the undercarriage. Seriously. Only change I would do is a smaller cam to make it more driveable since the monster cam in it causes surging issues with the ultra lightweight flywheel/clutch.

I'd say go for it. But then again, if you really want a C6Z, you really want a C6Z and this is you "settling", if you can call this car that... lol

Yes.

To find a used C6 with decent mileage and not much abuse is going to be pricey. If what you say about this car is correct, then yes, go for it. Seems like it's pretty good shape.

No.

If you know as much as you do about the car, and need convincing to buy it, you don't really want it.

Hold out for what you really want.

Im not for buying modded cars, but if you know the guy personally and have seen quality work its a different story.

I think youd be happier buying a C6Z and modding it the way you want. Thats 1/2 the fun IMO.

Thats it in a nutshell. I'm not a fan of the silver paint, and am kinda indifferent to C5 Z06's in general. It's such a damned good deal though! There is no C5 Z06 going for less than $28k with 2 states of me: most are still over $30k. For STOCK daily driver cars.

Thats why its so hard to decide! I could own it for a year or two until C6 Z06's come down in price, then sell this thing for the same price I paid for it probably. Damn.

I could buy it this minute easily, but my GTO isnt paid off until next march/april. damnit.

Sticks having owned several cars, at least 30, I can tell you that every time I settled for a car I hated it. If this isn't what you want pass and get what you want. If you can decide you want it and will keep it until you can get what you want and make some money on it cool but that is rarely the case. Just my $0.02.

If you have $15k more I personally think you should get this. 06 Velocity Yellow C6Z. Its in good shape and only has 54,000 miles. If I wasn't doing the E85 conversion on my Supra I would sell my C5Z and be all over that. There was another black Z that sold for 32k a few months back. Really good deals.

It's not like you're marrying it.... jeez....Offer him $18500 If he accepts Buy the thing (if he won't sell for that problem solved), drive it for a while--- (try not to break it though) DEMOD it when you're done, sell the parts and THEN the car.... You'll come out bucks up and maybe make a few with the car...

DON DO THE E85!!! Fuel octane consistency SUCKS AND if a particulate gets into an injector... you know all this already though I'm sure.

particulate? As far as fuel consistency I am selling my AEM v2 to get a proefi with flex fuel sensor so the car can automatically adjust to whatever fuel octane is in the tank.

Thanks for the input fellas, its appreciated. I've always wanted a vette: wanted a C5 Z06 when they came out, now a C6 Z06 (or mell modded LS3 C6 for a good deal).

Think I'll try the lower price thing first like nickate said. Then I could always swap the engine into my GTO (which I'll keep since I love the thing).

I've been trying like hell to get my brother to buy the damned thing: best of both worlds cuz we always trade vehicles. lol no dice yet though.

If you buy the C5 Z06, you'll STILL want a C6 Z06. Might as well buy the right car the first time, than have to STILL buy it later down the road. I know it's a great deal, but you've gotta hold out on this one...

As I said before bud - never settle!

I settled for my 97 WS6 when I could have had a 00 WS6 for a bit more. I regret it everyday.

After college, the Finance major in me realistically says I should get a LS2/LS3 C6 Z51, but I will still be left wanting a 2010 GS for the z06 looks and better suspension or left wanting the looks AND engine of a C6Z. But then again, if my biggest worries upon graduation is which C6 I'm going to get, I have it pretty damn good LOL

Never settle! Go big or go home!

C6Z all the way, hell you'll make 500rwhp with exhaust and a tune on a C6Z.

Hell, they are falling like crazy, my next C6 will be a C6Z, unless I get sick of C6's in general, I'm on my 3rd so we'll see-
