Default First run since cam and tune

Ok so my car is in sig. About six months ago I had a cam install/tune at a local performance shop. I was happy with the job and the #'s that it put down but it just felt just as fast as it was to me honestly. I played a lil w/ my car and I got to "think" that yeah it picked up some power. Fast forward to last Sat. I was driving the camaro like I never do and low and behold a 03-04 stang gt pulls next to me and revs we chat for a minute then decide to get some runs in. We only got 1 run in but it was a 50 roll to the top of my 3rd gear I let out at 95ish. I honk it off and give him the hit I see his cars nose raise up and I hammer it all I see is a blur in my side view I look behind me and had to a good 7-8 lengths behind me. He pulls up beside me yells that car is fu**ing fast thumbs up I give a thumbs up and we go seperate ways. Pretty cool run with a cool guy. I have similiar raced mustangs several times with results of 3-4 legths when I was bolt ons only but holy crap this cam made a HUGE difference and I couldn't be happier. Have you cam only guys experienced similiar results?

Yeah the cam is the 224R 112 LSA from texas speed. And I know that it was a puppy kicking but he was real cool about it and it let me see first hand how much difference a cam makes. Its even on a nitrous tune.

Pretty good numbers for a 224R. Good combo. Untouched heads? How do you like the 3.90s?

Thanks I was for sure surprised on the #'s too. Yeah they are stock untouched heads. All I can figure is the 25% UD pulley helped me out and it probably don't matter but my car made more power on a 11.4 N/A afr than it did leaned out I have the same afr on nitrous too. My tuner said this is the 1st LS motor he has ever seen do that. Guess mine is special

I forgot to mention that I LOVE the 3.90's they are a definite sotp mod it also helped my et in the 1/8th by .2 that's when I was only bolt ons and I had the same **** poor 1.9 60ft. Thanks for the compliments guys and I'm hoping to get it to the track for that 7.9 pass n/a I've been hunting.

Wow nice kill op and those are some awesome numbers for a such a small cam. My old Z28 with a 224 (114*) from Thunder Racing made 385 on stock untouched 241's through a 6-spd. Passed emissions too.

great kill, and i felt exactly like you after installing my cam and going from 350whp - 396whp. Felt a bit quicker but nothing that suggested an almost 50whp gain. Raced a full bolt on t/a one night and absolutely blew him away and realized how much quicker the car had become.

I made three passes all in the same day when I was boltons and gears. I was also still on the stock tune. The best et was an 8.37 at 84.xxmph with a 60' of 1.9x. The other 2 were 8.4's. I was on a 255/50/16 BFG drag radial. When I got it dynoed with no tune on a local dyno day it made 340 rwhp 350 rwtq. Needless to say I have been very happy with how my car performs.

I hear ya on not feeling "that much" faster. Hell, when I did my heads/cam/ported intake my car didnt feel nearly 100rwhp faster either. Luckily I had a guy lined up to race me that I was pretty much dead even with before in a full bolton LS1 Z28 on 555R drag radials. Was this like what you did to the Stang? (best race is at :38)

Yeah I would say it was something like that but I was at a 50 roll in 3rd gear at ~4000rpm it was instantly haulin' ***** as soon as I dropped the hammer. The sad part of it is now that I saw what I did to the stang I am wanting to throw me a set of heads on there for MORE POWER arrharrhahhhrrraahh (sorry Tim Allen got to me) LOL. Btw you got one sick GTO

If you are worried about being a douche don't be. If you have a kill or even a loss go ahead and post it up I and many others on here enjoy reading kill stories win or lose. Just give alot of details and write like you would an e-mail to a best friend or something like that. Just make sure what you type is backed up my fact and not nonsense like we have seen on here before because we will not hesitate to call anyone out on it.

The 224 is a nice lil improvement bro...

my stock ls1 2.73 geared c5 (299 rwhp)=101-104 mph trapps
my stock ls6 heads and ls6 cam C5 (335 rwhp)=103-106 mph trapps
stock ls6 heads and cam and exhasut/intake (345 rwhp) 104-107 mph trapps
224/224 cam with ls6 heads and intake/exhaust (380 rwhp) 108-111

No BS I gained 4 mph in the 1/4 mile with th 224/224 112 LSA cam..4 mph is HUGE!!!!!!!

So no wonder your car runs like a beaste now. I really loved that cam. Speakin g of cams another one just arrived via UPS for me 20 minutes ago..Hope Im as happy as you are!

Probably the cam from a newer Viper motor which is bigger. Like an LS6 cam swap.
