I feel ur pain LS1> Girlfriend i got beat by a 97 gtp also.
We did a rolling start from 30 and i got the jump but that was about it and by the time i hit 100mph i couldnt even see his plates. I have a video of the race but i dont know how to post it on here.
He had about the same mods as 2kgtp that u raced + an intercooler. Here is a pic of his $10,000 motor 
All i have to say is after i put $10,000 into my LS4 rematch!!!

You guys need to quit dinking around and start working on the intake manifold swap. I don't have dyno numbers or track numbers yet, but this freaking car is so.. much fun to drive now. 2nd gears is no longer a dog!

I havent said much on this one but give each car 2000 bucks and the gtp or l67 car is gonna win , i have less than 2000 into my car and it runs 13.06 at 107 and it can still be leaned out a little more.

idk about all that since alabamas gone 13.1 with intake, exhaust, and a tune. i dont think hes passed the 2g mark and if he has it was most likely trial and error stuff.

Thinking about getting a GTP as a DD cause they're really inexpensive now. Why are they only rated at 240 HP though? I've gotta figure the 3800 with a blower on it has a lot more left in it than that.

hahaaahaha he does not have 10k in that motor maybe 3k if he bought everything new. my car cost me 900 dollars hahaha

13.68 @102 2.02 60' on street tires in my old '05 GP GXP.. bone stock with about 1k miles on it. only second time at the track. got rid of that car due to it being fwd but i can GUARANTEE you $350 N2o 150hp shot and a $300 tune makes that LS4 12.50's @113-115mph. with about $1,250 left over... your argument about "$2k" in either car is a moot point. not taking anything away from the GTP but it's not a grand national type setup therefore, being supercharged, you're pretty limited beyond 13.0's on the stock one no?
and before any nay-sayer complains about the LS4's trans grenading, try leaving all the TM in the tune and it lasts just fine.

The GTP is a fun car to drive and is a great daily driver but it really sucks when it comes to traction. Driving at 30 mph and gettin on it it breaks the tires loose with just basic bolt ons on mine. If leaving from the light I leave at half throttle then punch it and hope it tracks up, But for very little money these cars are pretty quick. Its just always funny seeing ppls faces when the typical family car is out smoking the tires lol.
If I wasnt sinking all my money into the TA right now I would cam and IC it and drop down to a 3.2 or maybe a 3.0 pulley. Plus you cant beat the sound of the s/c

i need to update my sig for the cobalt: tuned, muffler delete, blue tooth, ipod connectivity, steering wheel controls, moonroof, stock brembos, 18's, front mount, buckets, air conditioner, 10' in trunk, nls, etc etc
