LS1 Miata vs. 2011 5.0 with I/E/Tune *VID*
Hey guys I have a LS1 Miata with 356rwhp and 350rwtq (Cam only TSP 228R, LS6 Intake, Stock 853 Heads LS1 346 with a t56 & 3.73's) and raced a guy in a 2011 mustang 5.0 from a 40 roll.
He said he had Intake, exhaust, and Tune and made 420-430rwhp... His car was a 6 speed as well.
Excuse my ULTRA SLOW shifting, my shifter is extremelyyyyy short and I don't have enough mechanical leverage to shift any faster, this problem will be alleviated soon with an aftermarkert shifter.
Anyway, heres the video 35-125mph

Does the first reply in these threads always need to be an explanation of why it happened featuring the word "should"?
OP nice vid. Thats a beastly car you have and it looks clean and well swapped.

Haha I was thinking the same thing like damn it moves out with what it has, it would be wild to see it with hotter engine mods. Dunno about traction though.
OP what tire can you fit under that thing? Hows it hook at low speeds?

I disagree.
A Miata is a driver's car, why spoil the throttle response with turbo lag?
Plus, the thing would need a very stout rear end, which likely means a solid axle and large tires, killing the handling and balance of the car.
I think OP did it just right.

Thanks a ton guys!
2 weeks from now it's getting:
TSP PRC stage 2.5 5.3 heads
FAST LSXR 102mm intake & PTM 102mm throttle body
NANO Nitrous Outlet wet kit with 15lb bottle (100 shot for now until I can see how well traction is)
It should make 400 at the wheels with the heads and intake, will make low numbers due to 1 1/2inch primaries block huggers and 2.5" exhaust.
The rear end is a ford 8.8 inch IRS from a 97 thunderbird, carbon fiber gt500 clutches and a ford racing traction lok and ford racing 373's.
The entire suspension front to back is factory Miata stuff, it does NOT have a solid rear axle. The car handles better than any vehicle I have ever driven by far...
Hoping for 500rwhp on the bottle, which will put me to 5:1 power to weight.
