FINALLY!!!!!!

so im drivin back home early AM and as im turning right i see a redline.....ohhhhh, its typically a young guy drivn it so maybe he will play.

funny part is as im stuck behind him while we break from a few cars, along pulls an obnoxious exhaust cobalt LS who gets the light with the Ion.

light goes green and i assume the redline knows im his real competition and pulls away slow; well LS guy nails his 150hp of bumblebee furry which annoys Ion guy who follows suit and guns it. I nail it 2, grab the open lane as we pull way past the LS but let off so we can line em up.

to my suprise, he nodded to my 3 beep hand signal.
starting from 30mph in 2nd....1...2...3....
Door to door all thru 2nd (till 65mph)
i NLS 3rd and barely edge a half hood length, hes still basicaly right next to me.....bang 4th, still there (wtf!)

we slow down.....we roll the window down
him...holy **** what u got done?
me...just a stock turbo & tune.
him....wow, freakin nice! and suprising!
me....thanx, yer **** is fast too. are u stock?
him....ummmmmmm, NO

we exchange thumb ups, give a nod and wave as he busts a u-turn (haha he def wanted to run me)

so im not gona pretend to know what he had done but it didnt sound stock, otherwise, he had to have something to run nxt to me from a roll like that. (my avg trap is 105-106)

wish i got a dig, launch control wulda been fun to see against another fwd car.

anyway......im chalking it up to raceweight.

i surveyed my car when i got home and have come up with the following which would have turned the tables.

in my car:
2 child seats.....20lb
24pk water......25lb
ice scraper......6oz
washer fluid....1lb
ipod..................4oz
over full tank...15gal
a rock my son found...2oz
window tint.........4oz
misc change......6oz
tire inflator......6oz
instruc book.....2oz
flashlight.........4oz
my fat *** just ate a huge beef sammich from johnnies........2lb (only countting what was over the norm)
i think with all the above, i may have been able to edge him out at least another .526347 hood lengths.

just sayin




(forgive any bad grammar, im on my stupid cell and im at work....lol)

I ran a guy not too long ago with all bolt-ons and on E85 and he hung within 2 cars or so on my car (112 trap). I had a passenger and it wasn't a great spot for me, but impressive nonetheless. I could see that something along those lines as what you raced.

search showed stock quarters around mid 14's at 99mph.

saw his big *** front mount and exhaust....otherwise no idea what else.

had to give him a handfull of woooooshes to show him im not just a cobalt and i can play on his porch.

so he gets an openin before me so he wait....or so i think.....he guns it as im just gettin nxt to him and i follow suit.

his one car lead is got back by the top of 2nd....i nail 3rd and pull a car....4th, another car......

so i pulled around that *****!

i gave him the tumb up and he ignored me.....

Them evos are nice and really shine from a dig. From a roll I could see yougetting a couple lengths. Sound like he had couple of bolt ons and maybe tune.
