Default 02 Firehawk vs 07 Shelby GT500

I was cruising home from a buddy's house and came up on an 05+ body style mustang (could tell from the tail lights). There was traffic so we couldn't really do anything if we wanted to. He switched lanes and i slowly cruised past him giving just enough throttle so that he would notice me, and at this time i noticed the GT500 on his door. He gave his car a little gas and i could definitely hear the whine of the blower. About a half mile later we end up at a red light but there are cars in front of us still, so i get in the left turn lane hoping he will bite. Sure enough last minute he flicks his blinker on and follows suit behind me in the left turn lane.

The left arrow turned green and i turned into the far lane and sat at ~25mph in first gear waiting for him. He came up along side me and matched my speed and as i looked over he nodded at me. He put three fingers up and counted down (i guess that's the new 3-honk?). We both went WOT and i immediately put about a length on him. As i shifted to second he stayed right where he was and i slowly started to pull more on him as i reached the top of each gear. We shut down around ~110 or so and i probably had ~3 car lengths on him. He asked me if my car was turbo'd because he thought he heard air lol but i told him it was just cam'd. He said it was an '07 but i'm not sure if he had anything done to it. He was a cool guy though, we complimented each other's cars and drove off into the night.

Cliff notes: i out-edged him in every gear, and i'm loving the new cam

thanks guys! first real race i've had since the cam's been put in so it gives me a better idea of what it's capable of.

i know right, wish i could've gotten it on video. all i had with my was my phone, and trying to steer, shift, and record a video all at the same time would've been a little too cumbersome

"drivability" is probably subjective, but in my opinion it's awesome. i don't think i would've gone any smaller or any bigger; it suits me perfectly. pulls hard all the way through the powerband and never lets up. also it sounds MEAN (vid in my sig doesn't do it justice). i was only putting down 331rwhp before the cam and now it's putting down 377rwhp, so i squeezed a gain of 46 out of it:

Thread jack: Stopsign when did you get a mach 1???? Nice choice btw, always did like the looks of them, with solid performance that is stealthy due to the cobra taking all the limelight.

The wife gave me her Mach, we just had our first child, and she needs a 4 door car. So the Integra is out the door as soon as I get this "performance" pos clutch out and something someone can actually drive and I'm buying her whatever car she wants (within reason).

So far this is how life has been with the Mach....

Before with the Integra all the guys at my work said "I hope you don't put a fart can on it!"

Today after driving the Mach I have all of them saying a guy's stock A4 C5 (minus stock Ti Z06 catback) would bust my *** because Vette>Mustang. So I told one guy to bring his pocket book tomorrow and back up the Vette with $300. I'm hoping for a race Friday against it.

It's fun driving Mustangs, I don't care what anyone says.

This is actually a quote from the guy putting the money up.

Him:"Has that Mustang got the 5.0HO motor (the older one LOL) in it or the 4.6?"
Me:"No, just the 4.6"
Him:"****!! I'll bet you anything you want that Vette will outrun it"

Sounds like he paid 25k for a low mileage c5 vette and thinks it must be able to beat everything because it is a vette.

Its definately not 25k! The car is never washed, I looked inside and the seats are ripped and the light in the door is missing. Its a pile of **** and if he sold it I doubt it would bring 10k.

Now keep in mind everyone (EVERYONE) at my work is complete car ignorant. Funny thing is one of the guys said "Kevin I dunno man...we saw him leave the other day and he spun his tires for a while". I laughed and told him I didn't care.

Yeah 25k is more like what you'd pay for a low-mileage c5 z06
