2000 SS vs. 2000+ Saleen I was on my way up to austin when I saw a newer looking yellow Saleen s281 (yr.2000+) getting onto the highway. I passed the
on- ramp in the far left lane about 4 cars ahead of him while he was working his way up onto the highway. He saw me and caught up to me quickly, I glanced over at him, I was crusing along and was not to sure about racing....I hate racing at night, I also had forgoten my radar detector. Well he reved his engine at me so I decided what the heck. I dropped it from 6-5-4-3, we are both crusing around 65 now. I punch it to 70 to let him know im ready. He gets even with me...I waited for him to punch it, as soon as I saw him pucnh it I quickly slammed the gas pedal to the floor. I quickly make up the ground (not to much to make up) and get about a half-car ahead of him i take it to about 90.....hes still at about my doo. Then I see the worst thing possible...Those red and blue lights. We both quickly jump onto the brakes and slow all the way down to about 75. My heart is pounding and in slow motion I see the cop go right by us...Weird. I guess he was on another call. He was an unmarked car. So anyways I decided I had to much excitment for one night and drove the speed limit the rest of the way to Riverside.
Im pretty sure it was not a SC281. I didnt get a real good look at the badge since it was so dark.

Re: 2000 SS vs. 2000+ Saleen i was drivin my friends stock ws6 and we saw a new saleen S281-E, the new 425 hp car. We both dropped it around 75 and he pulled on the bird bad. Those dam things are fast. We tried it again after a few minutes when there was no traffic, and right when we got off the 2nd time, we were around 90 and i hear a cop siren. My heart stops. i slow to 60 Then..2 secs later i turn around and see a ******* civic flyby us with2 poeple laffing with their heads out the window on a P/A system. <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" /> whattheshit..i gave the rice a thumbs up and wwe went home. Re: 2000 SS vs. 2000+ Saleen thats kinda funny, i would have been pissed afterwards though when i realized it was some dumbass kids playin. is there an easy way to recognize a s281 and sc281. well obviously they are faster but what about the body?
