Exclamation who's going to win? 98 Z28 or 2010 challenger srt8

Well a friend of mine wants to race tonight, its going to be him and a passenger (camera man). He has an 2010 6.1 HEMI Challenger srt8 (auto).

My car is a well taken care of 98 A4 z28 basically stock except a lid and K&N filter. The race is going to be from a dig, a little over a quarter mile distance. Thoughts? Am I going to win or lose?

on a side note i smoked an 2010 Mustang GT x) yesterday, he claims he smoked the same guy as well.

If he's a stock auto I think you'll pull him from a dig and hold him off during the race. From a roll he may pull you a little bit. Do you have 2.73 gears or 3.23s

If I had to guess the challenger if both drivers are equal.

Thanks for the feedback guys, both are autos, all you have to do is put a monkey in each car and have them press on the pedal when its time to do so!

I raced a 2010 a L99 SS camaro before from a 25mph we stayed together until the end of my 2nd, when my third kicks in the SS starts pulling away steady. If the new camaro > challenger, i think i'll be fine. hopefully I'll update in 5 hours .

I would give it to the Challenger, especially since you're racing past the 1/4 mile. The further you go the better chance he has of winning.

This is assuming no idiot traction control or other BS.

Gears are gonna kill you, better hope for a solid launch and get a couple cars, i dunno what the gears are like in the challenger but he might run you down up top.

This is also true, if I had been on DRs for all my races it wouldn't have been a race.

I wouldn't worry to much, street racing in my eyes is half a mental game, he might be thinking the same thing lol

Also, i think your gonna have your hands full because I raced a stock 300c srt8(i think was some old guy driving) in my bolt on LT1, and he straight up ripped me from 45ish-90, 2 or 3 cars. So unless i straight up raped him off the line he woulda have come around me before the 1/4 mile. My fathers 300c with the normal hemi, seat of the pants anyways, felt as fast as my LT1 stock except heavy as **** lol

Im going to give it to the srt8. I have a 300 srt8 and when it was stock it could pull a full exhaust SS 6spd from a dig and roll by 2 cars. Now its has full bolt ons and tuned and I have beat 2 cam only f-bodies from a dig and roll. Both cars made just under 400 rwhp. Im almost a 100% sure I got a freak car tho. Good luck man and let us know the outcome.

First couple of mods id do after this race and in the near future if money allows is stall and gears for sure. If your especially loosing to a L99 Camaro stock then those 2 mods are a must if i had a auto. As far as the challenger it is definitly heavier then the camaro it being stock as well it should be a close race but i think the challenger might edge it out, top end. Just race him and let us know, its street racing so who knows even with auto's.

I dont doubt what your saying at all, ive raced a intake, tune and exhaust charger srt and had no issues pulling on it at all, n/a no nitrous didnt have it at the time either. The SRT kept up from a slow roll 25mph till the top of my 2nd and then i slightly pulled him top of 3rd with hardly any traction, cars gearing is fairly short, most cars do well with me at lower speeds either way. From a roll at about 60-65mph it was a easy pull for me, no issues at all and was immediate. Then again OP is pretty much stock going up against a stock 6.1 Charger SRT so who knows. Goodluck OP

I'm just keepin' it real! Lol. It's a 98 Z, 2:73 gears, LS1 Intake, 853 casting heads, Un-Tuned, and lost to an L99 2010 Camaro. Also looks like he has bigger than stock rims. Outlook not good.
