got killed but my best race to date... ws6 vs z06
The other night i was cruising down the highway at about 65 minding my own bussiness on I happened to notice a c5 in my rearview. The sight of a c5 is always tempting but assuming its a mid-life crisis base c5 like most vettes around here are I don't really think twice about it. With in seconds this vette was behind me and I see its a younger guy prob mid twenties with a young blonde, and i notice him pointing at my car. Seeing this I figured he may want to play. I drop down to 4th just so he could hear my car and shifted into the left hand lane. He pulls up to my passenger side and thats when I saw that it was a hard top coupe z06 with a very loud exhaust. My thought was like "awe ****". Never one to back down and sieze the opportunity of an empty highway I roll down my window and told him nice car asked if he wanted to run. he nodded and said go from 30(empty highway), i thought yes I'll get to run from 1st. Next thing I know he honks it off and takes the hit and god damn it was loud! I stopped his pull instantly on his bumper, grab second he gets about a half a car and stays there through second. As we go for third he gained about another car and hit 4th and started to pull away. We shut down at about 115 with him about 3 cars ahead. Not ashamed to loose to a z06 I pull up along side of him and gave him the thumbs up and he replied good run, you held in better than I thought you would. His girlfriend was nothing but smiles. I got into the right lane ahead of him and as a got off my exit he honked and she was waving. Great run cool guy amazing car.

I've raced a similar z with about the same out come. I feel that my car is strong from a roll and could have faster quarter mile times but I honestly never hard launched it fearing for my 10 bolt.

Honorable loss and good job of talking with the guy before and after. Makes the race so much more satisfying when you can talk with the owner before and afterwards.

Very nice run and no shame in that loss. You knew it was coming from the get go and still . I had the same experience in my TA about 3 years ago and as a result it kinda helped me step up my quest for a C5/Z06.

good death op, and props for not backing down...great looking t/a...where is clementon from east brunswick ???...is it north jersey ???...anyway i would think seriously that your car would run a hell of a lot better then the times you have posted...i'd say 12's for sure with your mods...
