Default 5.3 s10 vs 07 Buell XB12R Firebolt

50mph pull.
Both hit at the exact same time.
140lb rider who knows how to shift.
Enjoy:

Honorable death, can't say I know much about Buells or what they run. But it seems like it takes quite a few ponies to take down a well ridden bike. What is you're 5.3 putting down for power?

My xb12r has the typical mods, tuned, muffler, cut airbox and its a beast until about 90ish. It tops about 140.

Ever get it on the dyno or to the track? I think they typically put down low to mid 90's stock with a nice lookin torque curve (v-twin) and mid 11's at high 11X with a good rider, maybe a low 11 with a very good rider in decent weather.

Numbers seem a bit low for a cammed 5.3. What bolt on's do you have? LS6 or LS1 manifold? And what tranny did you go with? I've seen a few LS6 cammed and intake 5.3's make 320-330 RWHP through a T56...thats why I'm curious.

XB12R's will run low 12's with a decent rider and mid to high 11's with a good rider. They're pretty slow IMO. It's the Buell 1125R that's the fast one. That'll run mid to high 10's. I've got an XB9R and it'll do mid 12's. Firebolts aren't fast but handle great.

That's through 3.90s and a 4l60e with a 3600 stall so it's eating some ponies. Bolt-on's include longtubes, under drive pulley, CAI, and electric cutouts. Intake is a FAST78. I know it hardly produces any more power than the ls6, but I plan to port it and produce just 3hp shy of a ported 90. Only paid 300 bucks for it.

I'm game this weekend. I'll be about 20 minutes away from Jax. Let's meet up and recorded it with the GoPro.

Ahhh ok, that explains the low reading then...especially the stall. And thats a smoking deal on the FAST! I'd love to snag one for my turbo build but I can't even think about spending $600+ for an intake. LS6 will have to do. Good luck with your goals.

The thing is I only come down to Jax(a little over two hours from Statesboro) every other weekend and the 15th happens to be one of the weekend I'm not down there. However, if I can talk my friend(with an 07 CTS-V) into riding down for the RCP meet I will come.

Yea man that Ls6 intake should be solid for that turbo build(just bump up the boost!), but will let ya know if I come across anymore deals like that.

definitely would be fun to run this s10. seems to run pretty good. I'm putting 200 more hp to the ground, but probably weigh 4K more

fast trucks are cool
