03turbomach1 vs built honda 500+ whp So I was at work yesterday and Nathan (92cobranotch) called me and told me that a local guy from winchester was getting his civic tuned at cnc engine. They wouldn't tell me what it made, but they told me it was nasty and I shouldn't do a roll with him. I really don't like roll racing anyway, but that all that they wanna do anymore.
So after standing around and bsing for a bit(nobody else showed up to run that was suppose to). I told him I'd give him his race if he took me for a ride. I wanted to see how many pounds it was on. So we went for a ride, saw it was on 20 psi.
If you dont know, my car is stock with a mmr turbo kit. Has a master power 70mm turbo and its on 7.5psi. Made 438hp though a tr3650. It has a T56 in it now. Stock 3.55 gears, stock 4.6 dohc.
The civic is a 2.0L. Has been sleeved. they said it has 9.75 comp and itr cams. Found out it made 528 on the dyno today.
1st race- Did a roll race at 50 mph, I honked 3 times and we took off, mine popped out of 3rd so I let out.... Honda 1 Mustang 0
2nd race- roll at 45, I honk 3 times and pull away bad, can't guess how many cars- he took off in 3rd so we decided to do it one more time, Honda 1 Mustang 1
3rd race- roll on at 50ish, I honk 3 times and pull a couple cars, I hit 3rd and I hear him shift about the same time, as i pull fourth i see him comes up some in the rear view, I stay out on him and at about 120 I really pulled away hard, I looked up and saw 4 ways in my mirror. Mustang 2, Honda blown up...

Ouch.... damn donnie. Seemed to pull nice and smooth when i rode in it. It was on 22 psi on pump gas. I asked him if they had a way to run around on a lower boost tune than at times turn it up. He told me they didn't give him that option. I had a bad feeling it wasn't gonna make it....
I think they fly Chris Miller in to tune, I've always heard he is really good

I think Arbogast cursed all of the fast Hondas in this area. Nobody else is meant to have one.

All plugs in civic were snow white and porcelin was missing along with all the tips. and the tops of pistons looked like they were hit with a doting punch. could be tune. or could be fuel pump, vac leak etc. that caused it. ill have more info on it later

allthough several ppl. confirmed wheel spin on the dyno in the upper rpm range wich means the car was unloading. so i dont see how they could get a good tune in the upper range with excessive wheel spin? and the upper range is where it poped
