Default Lost to 76mm turbo stang... then he blew up. Sucks.

Rematch of a few weeks ago when he blew up LAST time... but I won that race. He went from 68mm turbo to 76mm with new pistons+rods... so we decided to have a rematch. Well this time he won, but blew up again. Methinks his tuner sucks... intake is bone dry, so he lost a ring or a piston. Car's been out of the machine shop/tuner less then two weeks. Unfortunate.

This actually reminds me of a story that happened a few months ago. I was heading to the Lake front over here and there was a new Mustang that had Boosted written on the license plate. I decided to give the guy a rev to see if he wanted to make a hit. As soon as I did he was ready to go then all of a sudden there were plumes of smoke billowing out the back of my car. I looked down at the dash and there was lights blinking all over the place so I shut the engine down a coasted to a safe parking spot. The dude in the Mustang pulled up and was laughing saying "well it might have been fun if you didn't blow your **** up".. Come to find out I lost the pulley on my power steering pump and it ate a hole in the fluid tank on top of it and spread power steering fluid all over the headers (Which is caused the big cloud of smoke)..

To bad I never saw that Mustang again..

strong sarcasm, but really if it was only making 6's and it blew that blows for a forged bottom end.

If they are all forged, it's more than likely the tune that ate them than the parts inside the engine.

IMO, most local tuners nowadays are hacks. Seems like they feel their reputation hinges more on a big dyno number and could care less how long the engine lasts with their ragged edge tune.

So Diet, ya finally lost (more or less... haha). Time for the nitrous to get hooked up now.

Judging from the way he pulled from you when he was in boost, am I the only one thinking he was making more like a peeky 700+rwhp before it blew?

Yeah, I think so, but it is what it is. He said his boost alarm was going off, which is 20 psi, so... . Whatevs. Was a good run

Boost alarm? Did he even know he had such a thing, or was he referring to the redneck alarm? << that's when you hear your rotating assembly rattling down your exhaust and tinkling across the road.

LOL! I can laugh because I've been there. Then I bought a vette. Oh, and mine blew up on 11.5 afr, tuned conservatively. Stock ford bottom ends don't like boost.
