I took my Z06 out for a cruise tonight. Just minding my own business.. I learned my lesson from last night when I forgot the gopro's though. Anyway, I put both of them on my car and head out tonight.

It was a beautiful day in mexico...

A silver 04 Cobra is in my rear view, and pulls up next to me. This thing sounded mean. Bad memories of another one I raced in the past came back to me.. When I had my old bolt-on 02 SS and tried racing one with a jet engine under the hood that totally destroyed me.

Anyways, so he lines up with me and we both slow back down for a 40 roll. He beeps it off and we go. I instantly pull out a car on him (we both left at the same time) and keep pulling from there. By the time we shut down I was 3-4 cars up on him.

We both get off at the next exit and pull over in a parking lot and talk to eachother. One of the coolest guys I've ever met. Real stand up guy. It had a whipple on it and it was making 610rwhp. He had DR's and full suspension too.

My Z06 makes 540/590 with the 100 shot. It makes 440/405 on motor with a cam/head setup. Felt good finally beating one of these things.

I'm having some trouble editing my gopro video though on my computer. The whole video was 13 minutes long and I only need 20 seconds out of it.... And windows movie maker wont let me edit it either. Wont even recognize the file in my folder. I took a video on my phone off the video playing on the computer though. lol.

Nice Kill. Why can't I ever get lucky enough to roll up beside a Whipple or KB cobra.... or even a TT?

Good call on spraying it too. He probably would have had your number on motor.

Thanks guys. It's the first one I've ever been able to beat. I raced a exhaust/CAI only 03 cobra in my bolt-on 02 SS that pulled a car on me... And one that had a twin turbo setup that put train lengths on me with my SS also. It's always fun to have a good challenge. He mentioned doing an e85 setup for it over the summer... So I might be in a little bit of trouble.

You're not in any trouble. From the looks of that video, he needs another 50whp just to make it close. Then you can move to a 150 shot and still blister him.

I got lucky once when I was in my boosted vette and got to run a KB 03 Cobra with a 5.0L stroker. He ran like hell, but I put him down.

Hmmm mustang week : ) good lord of mighty.. There's a few bases here in nc and atleast 45% of the cars on base are mustangs... No **** you can add up all the sport cars gm and dodge makes and even civics in there and the stang population is still on top... I seen only about 6-8 legit fast cobras.. Trapping 125-135... 10.8-10.3 fastest.. That I seen at the local strip. Street cars mind you. The rest of them are high 13+sec cars if there actual Gt's and not fake.. Happens a lot. V6 cars putting gt badges or even cobra body kits and makes 16 sec pass all day
